I have worked with men's issues , marraige and relationship problems, adult depression and anxiety, and numerous PTSD/trauma concerns.
We all feel distressed at times. The time to call for help is when life gets to be more than you can handle and is stopping your growth. Intentions and desires go awry, and despite our best efforts, resolution eludes us. The goal is to help you reconnect with your original desires to live a meaningful and productive life, and do so in ways that best fit your life today. I am excited to announce that I am moving my practice to Summit Emotinal Health, effective October 27, 2021.

I have deep interest and ample experience in providing therapy to people of all backgrounds struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional-behavioral, parenting, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, multicultural, and men's issues .
Your life moves pretty fast - don't you think it's time to take a step back and evaluate it? Because we're constantly on the go we rarely give ourselves a chance to make sense of our experiences; instead we bear our life burdens and hope for the best. Life isn't easy, whether it's because of what we were born into, what people have done to us, and/or what we've to done ourselves. My goal is to help you learn about yourself, teach coping skills, and help you apply those skills to your life for true change. All I ask is that you come motivated and ready to work. You'll never regret making time to work on yourself to be a better you.

Starting therapy is a difficult step to take because you are telling yourself that I am broken, something is wrong with me, but it is the opposite. Therapy will help you open your true self to you, to your family, friends and loved ones, and to the world. I understand that asking for help can be daunting, but believe me, it will be one of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences you will ever have for yourself that will benefit not just you but also everyone that’s around you. Reaching out to a therapist can be overwhelming and at times frightening, exhale and take a moment, call or email and let us figure out how I can help

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming and frustrating. Stress in our lives can come from many different sources: communication difficulties, parenting children, unrealistic expectations at work, academic struggles. These challenges can become confusing and depressing if left in isolation. By addressing these issues in a safe, trusting counseling environment many of these stressors can be reduced.

You found me! Yes, I have winter openings. Easily schedule online or email for a same-day phone consultation. I know the holidays and wintertime can be the hardest time of the year for many people, so I always extend my hours and reserve slots for new patients. My patients are often high-achieving women, who are struggling in substantial life areas such as work or relationships OR men who may be new to therapy or looking for a different perspective. Let me help. My approach is one of genuineness and, when appropriate, humor to encourage my clients to feel as comfortable with me as they would a lifelong friend.

The weight of the world is tough to carry; especially when it's too heavy or nobody taught you how to shift the weight. Black and Brown men have been taught and held accountable to be strong and to never complain leaving them unable to feel comfortable feeling overwhelmed or understanding of their emotions. At The Weight Room, we will spot you by helping you learn how to carry and lift the weight of life in a healthy way or we help you learn how to put it down and leave it for good. We provide a safe, culturally aware and responsive environment for you to get the support you need. A space where your cultural identity is not an issue

Online Counseling for Men: Are you a man who feels stuck between anger and numbness? Stressed out and anxious? Maybe you've doubted going to therapy because it seems too strange. Do you wish something would change in your relationship, but you don't know what to do--or worried it might end? Or maybe you're the guy who's constantly the friend of every woman you'd actually like to date. Plus, COVID-19 has raised all these stresses to the nth power. For white guys, maybe you're also realizing how race and racism have played a role in your life. You're ready to take steps to undo harm--but it seems like there's no way out.

I fiercely believe we have the power to heal from within and value walking beside my clients on their healing journeys while fostering a safe, collaborative space for self-exploration. I enjoy helping clients break free from thought and behavior patterns that are not serving them on their path, while also examining ways the past is influencing the present. Empowering clients to honor their authenticity and supporting them in navigating staying true to that in our complex world is an essential aspect of my process. I operate from an attachment lens with an emotion focused approach.

“You are tired, you feel like you are carrying the weight of the world your back. Working for years to live up too societal, work, and family expectations. Feeling like you rarely have the space to be. Be vulnerable, Be seen, Be heard, and Be acknowledged. You want to let someone in, but the feeling of being seen as weak or incapable plagues and overwhelms your mind. The feel of being “not enough” sucks the life out of you and leaves you feeling anxious, depleted, helpless, and hopeless. You feel trapped in dark room only there is a door, but your fear of being unsafe prevents you from allowing anyone in.

Men's Issues Therapists

Is therapy for men different than it is for women?

Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?

Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?

One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
