Accepting new clients -The Center for Connection, Healing & Change focuses on the creation of secure, close, and satisfying relationships- within us and between us. We choose to specialize in relationships because we know the importance of satisfying connections for our mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Services explore the
relationship
we have with both ourselves and others; how well we can live with emotional ease, know who we are, ask for what we need, be responsive to loved ones, set boundaries, deal with loss, heal trauma, move through stressful experiences, find our purpose, and access resilience in moments of need.

Being at peace with yourself is not easy. Showing yourself the kindness you easily give to others can be extremely challenging. This is especially true if you are accustomed to anticipating the needs of others before acknowledging your own. You may find that your sense of worthiness depends on how useful you are to others. The beautiful thing is: you are enough already. Self-acceptance and self-compassion are common goals I work toward with clients. These practices are essential to create a stronger, more loving
relationship
with yourself.

I have 20+ years of working with individuals,
couples
, and families on how to rebuild, rectify, and restore their mental health to present their “whole self” to their families, loved ones, at work, and the world.
Starting therapy is a difficult step to take because you are telling yourself that I am broken, something is wrong with me, but it is the opposite. Therapy will help you open your true self to you, to your family, friends and loved ones, and to the world. I understand that asking for help can be daunting, but believe me, it will be one of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences you will ever have for yourself that will benefit not just you but also everyone that’s around you. Reaching out to a therapist can be overwhelming and at times frightening, exhale and take a moment, call or email and let us figure out how I can help

My ideal client is one who wants to building a collaborative
relationship
that will help to foster change. I believe that most of the work of therapy happens in between sessions, so my clients will benefit if they are willing to practice the things that we agree will be helpful. I am less focused on diagnoses than beliefs, feelings, and behaviors that are amenable to change. I am hoping that my clients have decided that they are willing to be vulnerable at this point in their lives and that they are open to having me participate in their journey toward a more effective life strategy.

Currently accepting new clients. I practice from the belief that humans are complex beings with amazing capabilities. Obstacles and challenging situations can block us from using our capabilities to their full potential, changing the ways we think, the ways that we live our lives, and the ways in which we relate to others. As a clinician, I believe that therapy can be used as a resource to for living out our potential. Everyone is capable of change, and I act as a resource for individuals in need to work through the limitations of health burdens, social injustices,
relationship
problems, and the other challenging issues.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
