I have more than 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults who are seeking help with mental health concerns related to depression, bipolar disorder , schizophrenia, trauma, anxiety, PTSD, substance use disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, as well as life transitions and other obstacles.
Wellness has been defined as a way of life oriented toward optimal health and well-being in which body, mind, and spirit are integrated to live more fully within the human and natural community. Ideally, it is the optimum state of health and well-being that each individual is capable of achieving. When working together in counseling, I perceive one’s thoughts are related to their feelings and reactions to events, not the events themselves. Counseling sessions are individualized to meet the unique needs of each client.

I have experience with a wide range of troubles including (but not limited to) adjustments to life changes, anxiety, depression, Bipolar Disorder , women's issues, persons in helping professions, trauma, and LGBTQIA+ issues.
Therapy is a place where we are allowed to be raw, imperfect, vulnerable humans in a society that expects us to be flawlessly composed. I focus my practice on personal power and can provide you with tools to work on whatever is causing your stress, whether that's in the present, past, or future. My goal in counseling is to be a source of unconditional support while we step back and explore the ways in which social forces impact(ed) the ways you understand yourself and the world. I firmly believe knowing oneself as a whole person is a crucial step to substantial and sustainable change and know we can find solutions to help you grow.

During the past six years, I have helped many teens, and young adults with a variety of challenges including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder , personality disorders, substance use, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Life can feel like an ocean of chaos that resists all forms of management at times. Whether it is mentally, physically, spiritually, or interpersonally, life has no shortage of challenges that can knock us off course. These challenges leave us feeling drained, isolated, and unable to find our rudder in troubled waters. Even if we want to find our bearings, it can feel like an insurmountable task, and the temptation to surrender in the face of long odds is all too real. However, we do not have to face these challenges alone. Therapy can provide a safe space to explore your decision-making process and increase awareness and insight.

I am a firm believer that therapy can benefit anyone. We often come to counseling amid great pain, change, or trauma when the work to be done is clear. Still, there is powerful, affirming work to be done in every phase of life. Whether you’re struggling with grief, transition, or feeling a little directionless, there is something to be gained from counseling. I place great value on each person’s lived experiences and trust that you are the expert on you. I work to help you rely on that expertise in combination with techniques and approaches from therapy.

You thought you'd have it together by now, but you still don't. Happiness feels like something you will always seek and never get to have. You portray a strong, accomplished exterior, but inside you feel unsure, sometimes angry and irritable and like the world is against you. Your inner critic is a steady companion that you can't imagine life without. After all, it's gotten you this far, right? You've tried it all - exercise, yoga, meditation, "self-care," even medication, and none of it has really worked. Why is it so easy for everyone else? What am I doing wrong? Why is life so damn hard?

Bipolar Disorder Therapists
The defining feature of bipolar disorder is mania. It can be the triggering episode of the disorder, followed by a depressive episode, or it can first manifest after years of depressive episodes. The switch between mania and depression can be abrupt, and moods can oscillate rapidly. But while an episode of mania is what distinguishes bipolar disorder from depression, a person may spend far more time in a depressed state than in a manic or hypomanic one.
