I use Schema Therapy which is a blend of CBT, attachment, and psychodynamics-looking into how our childhood has affected us as adults.
I work primarily with adults of all ages, and have a lot of experience with younger adults, the military population, and those living with trauma. I believe goal setting should be collaborative, but I can always meet my clients where they are. Some may need more guidance while others know exactly what goals they want to work on.

A typical treatment plan includes exploring your concerns, identifying patterns, and building skills using EMDR, Compassion-Focused CBT, and Schema Therapy.

Anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions can leave you feeling trapped in your own head. You might be looking for a therapist who gets it—someone who balances deep insight with real-world tools. My clients often tell me they were hesitant about working with a male therapist but were surprised by how much they felt understood, supported, and even laughed in our sessions. Therapy doesn’t have to be stiff or scripted—sometimes humor is part of the healing, and in sessions with me that is often the case.

I integrate evidence-based practices like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment-based and Schema Therapy with transpersonal approaches.
I believe that our experiences shape not only who we are but also the stories we tell ourselves and the emotional, mental, and behavioral patterns we find ourselves repeating. My role is to help you explore these stories with curiosity and compassion, transforming stagnant patterns into meaningful self-wisdom. I take an integrative, holistic approach to therapy—one that meets you where you are and adapts to what you need in the moment. Whether through mindfulness, body-based coping skills, or reflective dialogue, we’ll work together to help you step out of your head and into your body, accessing its natural wisdom.

I use Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), mindfulness, Schema Therapy, Emotional Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Integration (EMI).
We're all trying to get through life....and we weren't meant to navigate it alone. Sometimes we just need an ear, a shoulder, or someone to hold up the proverbial roadmap and walk alongside us to keep it moving forward. Life carries us through many seasons, often resulting in confusion, chaos, anxiety, depression, illness, grief, and traumatic events. Sometimes they happen as children and young adults, resulting in "stuff" we carry into our adulthood; this has an enormous impact on the quality of our lives. The good news is, there's help! You don't have to suffer alone and in silence.

As a relational therapist, I value authenticity + connection. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is collaborative and is a key tool for healing. I emphasize rapport building, open communication, and here-and-now processing to create a safe space to walk alongside you towards change.
I like to approach therapy through a relational lens. There’s the relationship we have with ourselves, consisting of our inner most thoughts + emotions, the relationship we have with our physical bodies (yes, movement is important!), the relationships we have with others, and the relationship we have with the world.

Therapy is hard, not getting therapy is harder. Taking the first step to wellness can be the most difficult and I will gladly help you navigate though life's challenges via TeleMental Health sessions. I became a counselor to help others find hope and their potential in life. I have experience working with civilian/veteran clients who have been diagnosed with a personality disorder, anxiety/panic, depression, PTSD, adjustment disorders, and who have suicidal ideation, attempts, and/or self-harming behaviors. While we diagnose in order to "name it to tame it," I view us all as human beings who need extra help along the path of life.

Schema Therapy
How does schema therapy work?
Schema therapy is based on the idea that maladaptive thought patterns formed in childhood—that other people can never be relied on, for example—can interfere with healthy functioning in adulthood. Accordingly, schema therapy works by directly targeting such unhealthy schemas, identifying their consequences, and replacing them with more adaptive ways of thinking. To this end, schema therapists aim to “reparent” the client by offering what they didn’t get in childhood—validation, for instance, or compassion—to reorient their worldview.
Is schema therapy evidence-based?
Schema therapy is still considered relatively new, and research on its efficacy is still in progress. However, some studies have concluded that it can be effective at treating certain mental health conditions, most notably personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder. Evidence for its efficacy in treating conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and OCD is promising but less conclusive, and experts warn that much of the existing research is of low quality.
Is schema therapy a type of CBT?
Schema therapy is based on many principles of CBT, most notably the process of recognizing and challenging maladaptive thought patterns. But because schema therapy also draws from other approaches, including psychoanalysis and Gestalt therapy, it is not considered a form of CBT. It also typically delves deeper into the client’s childhood than does CBT.
How does schema therapy work?
Schema therapy does not call for a set number of sessions and is instead open-ended, with the treatment timeline depending on the client’s primary concern(s), progress, and preferences. Treatment that lasts between six months and two years is common, though many clients will start to see progress much earlier than that.
