I work with a generational spectrum of clients, from adolescents to retirees, who are navigating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, or addiction. My ideal clients are often those who feel "stuck" in old patterns and are looking for a direct, authentic approach to healing. Whether you are facing old traumas, anxiety, work-related stress, or major life transitions, I help you move forward by integrating the immediate self-regulation skills of DBT with the deep processing of EMDR. Together, we work to transform the maladaptive memories into adaptive ones, giving you both the practical tools and the cognitive clarity needed to reclaim your life.

Most people try to solve problems on their own. But apparently unsolvable arguments with spouses, relatives, phobias, infidelity, porn addiction, depression, anxiety, temper outbursts, obsessions & workaholism require a educated, neutral third party to help figure out what's going on. I obtained as much training as I could in psychiatry, psychoanalysis, & treatment technique. I try to help patients become aware of their current conflicts and the effects of both recent and remote difficulties so they resolve problems & finish treatment. Confidentiality is critical. You will not see anyone else except me in my office or on zoom.

I work closely with parents throughout the process, and I also offer parent consultations, for any variety of issues.
My specialization is play therapy with young children, as play can help children express, understand and process their emotions and experiences. I take a child centered approach, but this involves working with parents as well. I try to understand the point of view of the child, as well as their parents, in helping the family sort out the presenting issues.

Often my clients are parents who are having difficulty understanding their kid and conveying how much they care.
I establish rapport with my clients through curiosity and compassion. I have training in and experience with a wide variety of techniques, such as play therapy, EMDR, and brainspotting, as well as more cognitive-based therapies. I chose the approach that best helps a given client stay regulated while expressing and processing uncomfortable emotions.

As both a clinician and a parent of a child with special needs, I understand the journey on a personal level, and you’ll never face it alone.
I specialize in helping individuals and families manage trauma, anxiety, behavioral challenges, and the unique dynamics of neurodivergence (ASD). With over 20 years in mental health, I bring experience, empathy, and a touch of humor to remind you that healing doesn’t have to feel heavy. Together, we’ll turn challenges into growth, one honest conversation (and maybe a laugh) at a time.

I help people who are dealing with stress, life transitions, parenting, or relationship struggles.
The most important part of therapy is feeling safe and connected with your therapist. You should feel seen, heard, and accepted. Together we’ll build on this foundation by developing a holistic approach that works best for you. As needed, I offer techniques like mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
