If your mind doesn't shut off and you feel like you're always "on," you're not alone. Anxiety and depression don't always look obvious from the outside — you're managing work, relationships, and responsibilities, but underneath you're exhausted and running on empty. There's a quiet voice telling you something needs to change. You don't have to keep pushing through alone.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with a specialty serving infants, toddlers and pre-school aged children and their families, and also serve elementary school-aged children. As a parent and a professional, I know how challenging parenting young children can be. I also know how foundational the early years are to children and newly developing families. I want to support caregivers to figure out strategies for best supporting and encouraging their children's behavior. This can include supporting a child who experiences an unfortunate hardship/ trauma, a family experiencing difficulties, or a child who displays challenging behavior.

Life has a way of throwing obstacles (trauma, depression, anxiety, addictions, etc.) in your path and for some reason we feel the need to control these obstacles. Guess what, encountering obstacles in life doesn't make you weak or a bad person - it makes you human. Regardless of the situation or circumstances, everyone has the capacity to get through life's difficulties. If you allow me to take this journey with you, I'll help you channel your resources, build off your number one strength (yourself) and help you transition from attempting to control problems to finding balance by learning how to manage them instead.

You don't have to face anxiety, hopelessness, anger, or self-doubt alone.
Have you spent years in therapy but still struggle with loving yourself and feeling like you’re not enough? For over a decade, I’ve been committed to alleviating human suffering by helping individuals navigate self-doubt, low self-esteem, anxiety, and challenges with self-love & confidence so they can perform better at work and create fulfilling relationships on their own terms. While problems are a natural part of the human experience, I believe prolonged suffering does not have to be. My perspective is shaped not only by clinical training but by lived experience.

I aim to provide an open and safe environment to address various issues that may arise in one’s life. My specialty population is couples and families, as I have personally experienced the effects of coming from a broken home, as well as surviving a chaotic family environment. I have 17 years of experience working with children and over 12 years of experience working with adults who are severely mentally ill and dually diagnosed. I find joy in helping others navigate through the roller coaster ride, and detours that life sometimes throws at us.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
