Often it can be difficult to put into words our experiences, thoughts, and feelings. You may have felt stuck, misunderstood, alone, and uncertain about what steps to take next. In my office, you will find a safe space to explore and process how past experiences, especially early in your life have affected the way you think, feel and behave in the present. In our work together, I will help you better understanding yourself, becoming more aware of old habits and the way you experience and relate to others. My goal is to help you make more conscious choices, have healthy relationships, and improve the quality of your life.

As a psychotherapist, I am committed to providing a supportive, safe, and judgment-free environment for my clients to work through present problems and address unresolved issues from the past. My goal is to help individuals better understand the causes of their problems and identify patterns, develop better self-awareness and self-acceptance, form healthier relationships and improve the overall quality of their life. Understanding the impact of the past and making peace with it are important components of treatment as one's past can continue to haunt the present time and influence it in ways that are not always evident to us.

“We are wounded in relationships, and we heal through relationships.” - Dr. Gabor Maté. This is the cornerstone of my therapeutic practice. The relationships that I specialize in working with are client-therapist, parent-child, and therapeutic group processes.
Healing happens in many different ways, and unique to each person. I work best with clients who are trying to improve their relationships with themselves and others, and families trying to understand and navigate difficult behavior in their children.

In the process of our interactive work together, we will clarify what processes are disruptive and help you learn ways to better adjust, cope, and deal with those difficulties. In this way, stress is reduced and life satisfaction is enhanced.

So many of us present a high-functioning face to the world, but our inner lives tell a different story. Depression, anxiety, and other issues are natural byproducts of the stressful lives we lead. I work with adults, teens (16 and older), couples, and families, ranging from adolescents facing developmental struggles to stay-at-home parents and Beltway professionals. As a native Northern Virginian, I can relate to the challenges of living in this frenetic environment. My previous military and consulting experience give me an understanding of issues that busy professionals deal with like self-care and work-life balance.
