I learned that the most powerful and courageous action you could take while feeling intense emotional pain was to be willing to ask for "HELP". We are not meant to work through feelings of isolation, depression, addiction or anxiety on our own. Starting therapy can begin to bring clarity and calm to your mind, body and spirit. I will help you overcome feeling stuck and anxious by creating a new awareness and inner attunement with yourself. Inner attunement helps to build trust, connection, safety, and vibrancy.

You’re exhausted and overwhelmed by daily life. You love your family, but it’s so hard to enjoy them when you feel this way. You want to learn how to take care of yourself, so that you have the energy and space to be the type of parent, partner, friend, and person that you know you could be. It seems like it’s always just out of reach, and if you just pushed a little harder or finally got organized, you’d finally have a handle on it all. Maybe you can't even put your finger on anything that's wrong, but you just feel like things could feel better. Is this just normal? Would counseling even help? (Spoiler alert: yes and yes)

At times, life doesn't unfold as expected, and we may find ourselves in need of guidance to navigate challenges or break free from feeling stuck. I firmly believe that there's no universal approach to therapy. That's why I draw upon a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and existential therapy. This flexibility ensures that I can tailor our sessions to best meet your unique needs.

Life can be challenging, uncertain, and just plain hard. We all go through difficult changes, unplanned circumstances, disappointments, and, sometimes, intense pain and suffering. Our past experiences shape our behaviors, relationships, and how we function in the world. You are not your behaviors. There is always hope for healing, growth, and change in the future from the bottom-up and the inside-out. We are all on this journey together. You are not alone. I offer help to children, teens, adults, and parents who are in need of a place to heal, grow, and become the best version of themselves.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
