I have spent much of my life driving the success of mental health initiatives from the systems and counseling level. This involved tackling issues through policy development and direct counseling initiatives. As a psychotherapist, I bring my wealth of experience to the outpatient setting, facilitating others to become their best selves through kindness and strategic supports. I practice from the belief that we can all live meaningful, fulfilling lives if we have genuine, knowledgeable supports cheering us forward.

Counseling is a personal journey that is goal-directed and designed to empower you for change. Our counseling practice is dedicated to promoting mental, emotional, and physical health. We believe that as human beings we already have everything we need to flourish. The dilemma is that life happens. Life inevitably introduces various degrees of harm and tragedy into our stories, which often evokes the need for help. Sometimes, seeking help from an expert therapist is the best way to put things into perspective. As a committed, professional mental health group, your well-being, and strength is our priority. We are here to guide you through life's challenges. We incorporate non-traditional interventions in our sessions such as cinema therapy, bibliotherapy, plant therapy, creativity-based therapy, walk and talk therapy, and more. We truly believe that with your strength, and our vision, life is full of possibilities. We look forward to taking the journey with you.

I have experience working with teens, adults, couples, and families to improve communication and connection.
I don't know you but I am proud of you for coming here to seek help either for yourself or for someone you care about. When life becomes overwhelming, it can be hard to ask for help. Whatever has brought you here, I am so glad you did. My clients have come to a place where they recognize doing it on their own is no longer working for them. Childhood trauma, medical trauma, dissociation, constant anxiety, depression, hoarding, and self-acceptance around neurodivergence are some of the areas that my clients have challenges. I believe in you and your ability to change and live the life you choose.

Hello! I'm glad you are looking for someone to talk to and maybe I am the right fit for you. I am comfortable working with many different populations with varying levels of issues. Depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and military specific stressors are a small cross-section of the issues I treat. I am a sex-positive, kink informed and trauma informed clinician. I am a laid-back person with a robust, and admittedly sometimes immature, sense of humor who is a big believer in radical acceptance. You can expect these things, and many more during our sessions.

People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes there's a specific challenge that needs attention. Other times there's no single issue, but you know something isn't working and you'd like things to feel different. My background in healthcare and hospice has given me a particular interest in grief, caregiving, chronic illness, burnout, and life transitions, but I also work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, and feeling overwhelmed by life's demands. Together, we'll work to better understand what's happening, identify meaningful goals, and find practical ways to move forward.

There are times when we go through life where we appear to be high-functioning on the outside, but on the inside, one may feel stuck-whether emotionally, relationally, or professionally. Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or a sense of not being "good enough." Whether you are a college student trying to navigate academic pressure or someone balancing roles while silently questioning your worth. And perhaps you've reached a point where you are ready to feel more grounded, connected, and whole with the ability to better manage your own emotions and life's challenges.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
