I get it. You're tired of feeling stuck but don't know where to begin making changes to help you feel better–more resilient, confident, and self-assured. You're tired of the anxiety spirals, the overthinking, the second-guessing. You want to be able to rest without feeling guilty! To enjoy socializing without worrying about how you're being perceived. To leave work at work and enjoy your hard-earned time off. You're ready to be able to speak your truth with kindness and clarity so you can have the kinds of relationships you're craving and deserve!

Do you wake up in the mornings with a feeling of dread? Does it seem like you can never fully let your guard down? I know these struggles, because I’ve helped people work through them for over 15 years. Many of my clients have dealt with traumas, anxiety, depression, or relationship issues. I offer treatment for those who want to overcome high stress, effects of trauma, depression, and more. As you begin this road of healing, you can find the relief and confidence to live your life with more confidence and less fear.

Feeling disconnected can happen in any loving relationship. Sometimes couples find themselves in patterns that leave them feeling stuck, frustrated, and unsure of what to do next. Through EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), couples can restructure their bond by learning to reach and respond in new ways. While experiencing relationship distress, couples often struggle to turn toward one another and utilize each other as a resource for strength and healing. Couple therapy can be the perfect place to find your way back to your partner.

I offer warmth, compassion, and non-judgmental kindness from the first consultation call to the moment you decide you are ready for our time together to end. My clients are teens & adults seeking support in cultivating resilience, peace, joy & connection in a busy world. I provide a calm space to get curious about understanding & addressing anxiety, depression, and trauma - including parents who want to help their kids & teens break free from anxiety, OCD & related struggles. Interrupting cycles of using perfectionism, overwork, disordered eating, or using substances to hide, numb, or cope is not something you need to do alone.

Understanding an individual’s cognitive profile goes beyond getting just one IQ score. Obtaining a comprehensive picture of one’s strengths and weaknesses is the best approach to identify exceptionalities and to understand how one’s abilities are interrelated to executive functioning skills, attentional control, academic achievement profiles, and emotional functioning.

Mental health is a journey, and sometimes it can be a challenging one, especially if you are not sure where to begin. However, you do not have to travel on this journey alone. I believe in the power of collaboration and I would be honored to work with you. Together we can work through life’s challenges and find ways to overcome them. Guided by empathy and a commitment to foster positive change, it is important for me to create a safe, supportive, as well as a non-judgmental space where you will feel heard, understood, and empowered while you navigate through your feelings and experiences.

Struggling to function at work and at home, meet deadlines, as well as the expectations of relationships, while also experiencing anxiety, depression or substance abuse-whatever the challenge may be-can be hard to explain to friends and family. At times explaining what's happening in our heads actually feels more exhausting than what's really happening and can lead us to isolation and loneliness.

I specialize in working with adults and young women who have experienced traumatic events (childhood sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence, physical abuse, car accidents, military trauma, etc) and are experiencing trauma symptoms. The traumatic event may also lead to emotional dysregulation, self harm behaviors, hospitalizations and/or a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder, among many other disorders. I also have a passion for working with veterans of post 9/11 wars who have a diagnosis of PTSD. My goal is to help others find and achieve their "life worth living".

At times we may feel unheard, lost, or in need of a return home to self. You may be seeking a calming, stable space to explore self or a grounding source of support for yourself or your child. It can be difficult to seek help, but I am here to remind you of the courage it takes to make this vulnerable step. My name is Callen and I am dedicated to creating a place for your story to be held and seen through a lens of empathy and empowerment. I often define therapy as a process of welcoming home parts of self that have been set aside or forgotten. It is through this process that an integrated and compassionate self can be reborn.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
