Exploring your thoughts allows you to control your feelings, which in turn helps you make clearer and more controlled decisions. I help clients navigate the complexities of their lives, including stress, anxiety, lack of motivation, and substance use addiction. I use a person-centered approach to help clients better understand their stressors and draft solutions. So if you feel stagnant, lack motivation or struggle with anxiety and depression, you are in the right place.

Working with adolescents to the elderly with various diagnoses has been a passion of mine.
My passion as a Licensed Professional Counselor is to meet people where they are in their lives and try to help them make sense of it. Let's face it, life can be a mess sometimes. One moment, life can be happy, upbeat, positive, balanced. The next moment, you may feel your sinking in a never-ending quicksand or feeling knocked over by a rogue wave of emotions and problems feeling too great to solve. We all are unique individuals with a wide range of experiences, both positive and negative. Flexibility and adaptability are how I work to adjust as a Therapist to help find a treatment plan and other strategies for clients.

I want to work with any client who is facing challenges in life whether it stems from anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, etc. I want to help them find real solutions to their problems. I believe in empowering clients to find their own internal strengths to gain self-awareness to make their lives better. The saying, “You can’t pour from an empty cup,” is a reminder that we must take care of ourselves first before we can take care of others. What makes my treatment style unique is that I am able to find the underlying lesson in any situation, often utilizing humor to help clients cope with life’s demands.

I take a humanistic, intersectional approach that deconstructs traditional therapy. I see the whole person, not just symptoms and how systems have shaped you, past and present. Whether family dynamics, societal pressures, or trauma, we'll explore how these impact you today. Together, we'll build practical skills while honoring your unique story and strengths.

I work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, and relationship patterns.
Something happened — maybe a long time ago, maybe more recently — that changed how you move through the world. You carry it quietly, but it shows up in your relationships, your anxiety, your sense of self. You might also be someone who doesn't fit the standard therapy mold: your spirituality looks different, your healing path feels unconventional, and most therapists haven't known what to do with that. I do. If you're ready to stop managing your pain and actually heal it, you're in the right place.

I provide individual therapy to children, adolescents, and young to middle aged adults.
Your life moves pretty fast - don't you think it's time to take a step back and evaluate it? Because we're constantly on the go we rarely give ourselves a chance to make sense of our experiences; instead we bear our life burdens and hope for the best. Life isn't easy, whether it's because of what we were born into, what people have done to us, and/or what we've to done ourselves. My goal is to help you learn about yourself, teach coping skills, and help you apply those skills to your life for true change.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
