My name is Kimberly Sparrow. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and have over 15 years of experience in the mental health field serving in various settings (schools, the community, hospitals, private sectors, and CSB's).
Life can pull us in so many directions that we sometimes lose sight of ourselves in the process. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I take a person-centered yet realistic approach to therapy-meeting you exactly where you are, without judgement or pressure. My goal is to create a safe, down-to earth space where you can breathe, reflect, and begin to reconnect with your own strength and clarity.

Folks that come to me for support struggle to manage the thoughts and feelings that lead to relapse and mental health crises. My experience tells me that these folks feel disconnected from themselves and their community. Establishing connectivity to their friends, family, and their broader social setting is crucial for wellness and for healing. Everyone has the goal of contentment and peace of mind, and substance abuse more than most challenges undermines the fulfillment of these basic needs. To heal and prosper, substance abusers and trauma survivors need to practice self care in the bio psychosocial-spiritual way of life.

My ideal client is someone who feels weighed down by stress, anxiety, life transitions, or relationship challenges and is ready to explore new ways of coping. They may be navigating self-doubt, feeling “stuck,” or struggling to balance their own needs with the expectations of others. Their goals often include building self-confidence, finding clarity in decision-making, and creating healthier patterns in their daily life and relationships. Above all, they want to feel more at peace with themselves and empowered to move forward — not just to manage their current challenges, but to thrive in the long term.
