I have a passion for helping individuals overcome and manage depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and phase-of-life issues to develop a positive self-image by rebuilding self-esteem and developing practical techniques and skills.
Our initial session is about getting to know you—your story, goals, and what has brought you to this point. We’ll discuss what you hope to achieve in therapy and explore any concerns or questions you may have.

Are you ready to feel empowered and notice you feel most relaxed with animals and in nature? Perhaps, traditional-talk therapy doesn't feel quite right for you and you're curious about an experiential approach to heal and grow. When working with me and our amazing animals (horses, goats, dogs) on the farm, you can anticipate learning to leverage your strengths, building resilience and finding meaning through challenges. I provide care for children, adolescents, adults and families, many of whom need help with anxiety, depression, stress, panic attacks, trauma, PTSD, grief, ADHD, family issues, and coping with disease and disability.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and older adults. While I use a variety of approaches (including AEDP, Existential Theory, Attachment Theory, EFT, and DBT), ultimately I like to let our work together inform which approach suits our time best. I am knowledgeable about trauma-informed practice and bring a lot of my own life experiences into the sessions, through my work as a teacher, professional firefighter, and professionaI musician.

Many clients I work with are high functioning on the outside while internally struggling with anxiety, ADHD, trauma, vigilance, self-criticism, distrust, or low self-worth.
I work with adults and couples exploring how their earlier years, relationship patterns, unmet needs, life transitions, and unresolved hurts continue to shape the way they see themselves, connect with others, and move through the world. I offer a supportive and highly skilled space for those struggling with perfectionism, people-pleasing, burnout, communication difficulties, pursue-withdraw cycles, or the experience of being neurodivergent in a world that can feel overwhelming or mismatched. Together, we work toward greater self-understanding, emotional connection, security, resilience, and lasting healing.

I work with adults and teens (and families if needed in addiction cases) and my focus is to help clients heal from struggles like depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, adjustment issues, self-esteem, domestic/sexual violence, and addiction.
I am direct and can help clients who come to therapy in need of action and goal-oriented outcomes (vs. just passive listening). My approach is integrative, combining evidence-based practices with a compassionate, client-centered focus. Whether I use EMDR, parts work (IFS), or any other treatment depends on you and we will work collaboratively on your treatment planning. If you want to do the work in a safe space, I will work just as hard alongside you. I am so passionate about seeing my clients experience growth and increased resilience.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
