Accepting clients now. While I bring to our sessions my rigorous academic and clinical training, once you’re in my office, I think you'll find it’s essentially, at its core, a conversation. Even though I listen to things other people in your life might find uncomfortable, you’ll probably find that you spend more time laughing than crying in my office.
Let me help you get to a place where: Resilience is enhanced. Relationships are rewarding and stable. Decisions are made consciously, with clarity and purpose. Life's work is energized, in harmony with personal values. Transitions are managed more smoothly, embraced as opportunities.

"Therapy is a journey one takes with a trusted professional who will walk side by side, at times guiding and at times following. There are no preconceived notions about this journey however brief or extended." These are the words I have shared over many years of training young professionals. Though I treat all types of individuals, my area of specialty is complex trauma - borderline personality disorder, PTSD, and dissociation. I am intensively trained in DBT and have been practicing and teaching DBT for over fifteen years. My team is DBT by Design/South FL DBT Consortium.

Having a hard time navigating life’s
changes? Are you feeling anxious?
Alone? Counseling can help guide
you in solving problems, growing
yourself, becoming your true self,
and finding your bravery. My
mission is simple but powerful: help
each young person build the tools,
confidence, and self-awareness to
become the healthiest version of
themselves — not someone else’s
idea of success, but their own.
In her office, feelings are allowed. Voices matter. And every younger self is reminded:
You are not broken.
You are becoming.

Life gets heavy. Sometimes it's life, work — what you've seen, what you carry home. Sometimes it's wounds that go way back — childhood, abuse, trauma, things that were never your fault but shaped you anyway. Sometimes it's a relationship, a transition, or just the slow buildup of too much for too long.
Whether you're a veteran, first responder, kid, teen, or adult trying to figure out the next season of your journey, you don't have to sort through it alone. Just show up as you are — we'll take it from there, together.
You've got this. And I've got you

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.
When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.
What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.
Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
