I take an integrative approach pulling from psychodynamic, attachment-based, cognitive, and relational therapies.
I help people who grew up in difficult or emotionally painful families untangle self-doubt, shame, and people-pleasing, so they can feel more comfortable being themselves. If you’ve spent your life taking care of others, feeling like you’re “too much” or “not enough,” or struggling to set boundaries, you’re not alone. The ways we learn to survive in childhood can follow us into adulthood in ways that leave us feeling stuck, anxious, or disconnected. With support, these patterns can be understood and changed. They don’t have to define us.

Life experiences can leave lasting effects on how we think, feel, and move through the world, especially painful and overwhelming experiences. If you're struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, or feeling disconnected from yourself, therapy can help you reconnect, heal, and move forward. I work with adolescents and adults, specializing in trauma treatment. I also utilize mind-body approaches to help you process difficult experiences and restore a sense of balance. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and heal from traumatic memories.

Hi there! As a trauma-focused, existential, EMDR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe in the importance of connection, support, and finding meaning together. I believe that one of the most devastating consequences of depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma, is isolation. As your therapist, it's important to me that you feel seen and understood. I have extensive experience with adolescents, adults, and first responders, and I believe that no matter where you are in life or what you're struggling with, you don't have to travel it alone.

I work from a wellness model and believe anyone can benefit from counseling. I work to provide a safe environment where my clients feel supported and heard. Counseling has not, and still isn't always accepted in many communities, so making the decision to come to counseling with the fear of "el que diran" (what will they say) can be difficult. I will do my best to guide you in your journey to understand how therapy can help you. I also have over 9 years of experience working with individuals who have been affected by cancer, and know it can be difficult to find someone to talk to who is knowledgeable on the topic.

I use many other modalities such as CBT, psychodynamic and strength based practices, among others.
Life has become too complicated. Issues concerning relationships, parenting, work, self-confidence/image and identity can become overwhelming. We no longer have the luxury of access to our community or support systems on a daily basis. That is when a therapist, as a professional outsider, can become your best ally and help you navigate through the maze that is life. As a therapist, I will help you identify your own internal strengths and external resources and develop new tools and skills. We will work together as a team to explore your past and how it may be impacting you today.

Through mindfulness practices grounded in cognitive behavioral theory along with psychodynamic techniques you will gain new insights and awareness of old patterns that cause undue suffering.
The goal of therapy is to reduce suffering and support meaningful change. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, impulsivity, relationship challenges, a traumatic past, questions around gender identity or sexual orientation, or a general sense of feeling stuck or unfulfilled—therapy can be a powerful pathway toward greater peace and clarity. By focusing on your natural strengths, we work collaboratively to identify both internal and external roadblocks that may be preventing you from living a more connected and fulfilling life.

You love your children deeply—but motherhood feels heavier, lonelier, or more emotionally complicated than you expected. Maybe you’re carrying more of the weight than anyone realizes, navigating partnership disappointment, divorce, or co-parenting stress, or confronting old patterns resurfacing in ways you never wanted. You may look like you’re holding it together while grieving the version of family, relationship, or self you thought you’d have—and wondering how much longer you can keep carrying so much on your own without losing yourself, too.

I want to help you to become the best version of yourself and to help you advance to your highest potential. I believe you don’t change your life by changing your life, you change your life by changing the way you think. In other words, changing your perspective on how you respond to life stressors. Your responses will either cause you to be “bitter” or “better". I want to help you understand how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors are constantly interacting and influence one another.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
