From day one I seek to help clients reach autonomy through collaborative treatment. Counseling, for the majority of individuals, is not something that should last a lifetime. Focusing on your goals, identifying barriers to progress, and seeking how to sustain the progress you have made is my philosophy.

I see clients in-person on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays while offering telehealth sessions Mondays and Tuesdays.
Sometimes we as people just get stuck. When you're a child or adolescent, that may look like anxiety, overwhelm, aggression, isolation, and more. However, we also have the hope and possibility to be unstuck, we just may need some new tools to get there - that's where counseling comes in. Healing and growth and wellness are all possible and worth working for, and asking for help is sometimes the first step.

I love working with clients navigating life’s transitions—whether an adolescent finding their identity, a young adult facing new pressures, or a couple seeking to reconnect. They may be struggling with depression, anxiety, or the heavy weight of trauma. I also work with individuals facing the complexities of sexual addiction and couples at any stage, from dating to pre-marital and marriage, who want to rebuild trust or deepen their bond. I recognize that people are looking for a safe, non-judgmental space to explore their story, gain practical tools, and move toward a more fulfilling, connected life and I aim to provide that.

Taking the first step to start this journey is something that you should be proud of and know that it takes a lot of courage! I have made the comparison to clients that "finding a good therapist is like finding a comfortable pair of jeans or shoes sometimes you need to try on a few before you find the right fit for you". As a therapist, I am interested in making things comfortable for folks so they can feel safe in the space. I have been in the field for almost 30 years now and still very much adore being a social worker. It is an honor and privilege to witness people grow!

My career background before pursuing a Master of Arts in counseling was as an RN and then as executive director of a nonprofit women's ministry focused on eating disorders and other co-existing conditions. When assessing a client I try to take in the whole person: body, mind, and spirit, considering how each of these components is impacting the others. If a client chooses, I am willing to incorporate Christian faith-based counseling, in addition to a mix of therapeutic approaches. I also provide couples and family counseling. I have been married for 37 years and we have three grown children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 doodle-pups.

As a Christian therapist, I have provided faith-integrated marriage and family therapy to individuals, couples, and families for nearly 30 years, but my current clinical focus is treating the impact of trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). You may be in a place of pain or emotional reactivity because of deep childhood injuries, exposure to combat, or the impact of secondary trauma from your work as a medical provider, a first responder, a pastor, or a missionary. I would be honored to hear your story and help you process through your experiences to a place of peacefulness and renewed hope.
