As cheesy as it may sound, I've known that being a therapist was my calling from the time I was 16 years old and took my very first psychology class. In the many years since, I have been honored to walk through life's highs and lows and everything in between with my clients. In past career iterations, I have worked in a hospital as a medical social worker and case manager, and then as a therapist at a Partial Hospitalization Program. These experiences have helped to shape my worldview and practice, as a clinician and as a person. Being a therapist is truly my dream job, and I am so proud to be here doing it.

I specialize in cultivating a safe space for couples to reconnect, resolve well-worn patterns, and repair old wounds. It might be that each of you has a different way of navigating emotions, conflict, disconnection, or stress. For most couples, this includes one partner pursuing connection or resolution, upping the ante when they can’t feel their important other, and the other partner withdrawing or shutting down in an effort to reduce tension and diffuse the conflict. Many couples find these different relational strategies can lead to cycles of frustration, misunderstanding, pain, and protectiveness they can’t find a way out of.

Due to this I have tailored my practice to focus on assisting clients experiencing women's issues, neurodivergence, relationship concerns, depression, and anxiety, among other presenting issues. Much of my work is assisting these clients on improving their self confidence, self talk, boundaries, communication, and conflict resolution practices.

I provide psychological evaluations for a multitude of clinical presentations, including ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD and trauma, personality issues, and various other mood and emotional factors.
We will initially meet for an intake session virtually where I will conduct a comprehensive interview to get to know you and your presenting concerns on a deeper level. With that information, I will put together an appropriate test battery. Once testing procedures have been completed, we will meet again for a feedback to discuss results and recommendations.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
