I like to tell my young clients that I have a great job because I get to work with students, parents, and teachers to figure out how kids' brains work. This involves identifying strengths and weakness that contribute to school performance and using this information for educational planning. Students of all ages, preschool through college, are referred for learning problems (reading, writing, math, language), ADHD-type symptoms, social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties, and other school-related issues. I also provide assessments for independent school admissions, including WPPSI-IV and WISC-V evaluations.
My belief in the therapeutic relationship as foundational for personal growth and change in individual psychotherapy motivates me to ensure a therapeutic environment that is both safe and validating. My style is collaborative and non-judgmental as I work in partnership with individuals to promote healing, foster strengths and move toward positive change.
As a Clinical Psychologist for the past 30+ years, I have worked with individuals, couples and families with a wide variety of issues and concerns. While problems need to be identified, I prefer to focus on the strengths that are often obscured by the stress and the immediate crisis. As the stress becomes manageable, so too can we together discover the strengths that will result in solutions, growth and improvement. I look forward to sharing that challenge with you.
I believe that developing a supportive, collaborative relationship with my clients is key to healing and growth. I work with kids, teens, and adults, but most of my clients are young people struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, and stress related to being gifted or twice exceptional (2e) while living in a competitive community. I also provide private schools admissions testing, giftedness and 2e assessments, ADHD evaluations, learning disability assessments, and other psychological testing. I tailor the treatment and testing process to meet the specific needs of each person I work with.

As the demands of daily life become increasingly complex, many people find themselves struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relational conflicts, difficulty with managing life-work balance, and unresolved trauma from earlier experiences.
If only the image you have perfected projecting were true. Everyone seems to buy it; that you are as calm, confident, and competent as you portray yourself to be. Meanwhile, you walk around feeling like a little girl wearing her mother’s heels. The worst part is always worrying about being “found out” as the fraud that you know yourself to be. It makes it hard to be really emotionally available and honest in your relationships and you always end up feeling so alone. All the success in your professional life just makes you feel like you have that much more to lose when someone really sees what you are desperately trying to hide.
If you are feeling depressed or anxious, struggling with life transitions, parenting, occupational difficulties, grief/loss, past or present trauma, or other issues, I believe that a safe and supportive therapeutic environment can bring help, hope, and healing to your life. This relationship is often the first step toward helping individuals to understand their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.
As a therapist with 26 years of experience in the mental health field, I have been inspired by the diversity of experiences and strengths of those I have had the pleasure to work with. We all go through challenging times in our lives in which we find ourselves discouraged. Exploring our situation offers the opportunity to learn, to grow, and to live life beautifully. Therapy does not change people; it enables them to discover their own resources so they can make the changes themselves. Together, we will focus on a clear purpose, taking small consistent steps toward change, and managing obstacles along the way.
