I am particularly experienced in treating anxiety/depression, trauma, sexual addictive behaviors, shame/perfectionism, and women’s issues.
Have you been experiencing a gap between the reality you are living and the life you want to live? Throughout our lives, we will face constant exposure to reality gaps— the reality we live versus the reality we want. Because of this, feelings of pain are inevitable. It’s my belief that feeling pain, unhappiness, and dissatisfaction with your life doesn’t mean you’re defective; it means you’re human. Despite this human condition, psychological suffering is not your life’s purpose. Living a rich, full, and meaningful life is.

I work with individuals and couples who have lived distressed lives and struggle with anxiety and depression.
Grappling to keep it all together… Your family, spouse, career, house, friends, and reputation… There are so many obligations… so much pressure! With all the busyness and expectations of life, it’s harder and harder to keep up. You seem to have it together on the outside, but… On the inside, you’re chaotic and on edge. It feels like you’re falling apart. All the activities you used to enjoy now feel like yet another burden. The people and things that used to fulfill you are now falling by the wayside. Honestly, you feel so bad that you don’t know how you will make it. You desperately want to feel good and like you are thriving.

If you’re ready to reduce anxiety, depression, burn out, heal from trauma, and or build a more balanced life, I invite you to reach out for a free consultation.
I believe the body holds deep wisdom and an innate drive toward healing. By learning to listen inward, we can uncover the roots of patterns shaped by past experiences and the need to adapt. I work collaboratively with you to understand these patterns in context and gently shift what no longer serves you. Together, we’ll build greater mind–body awareness, helping you release old cycles and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

I have a compassionate approach to supporting people struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, faith transitions, or feeling stuck during difficult moments.
I have authored two books about the intersection of motherhood and mental health – a topic I am passionate about. I can relate to a lot of life transitions you may be navigating because of my own life experiences like raising a family, divorce, navigating a faith crisis, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and authenticity.

Feeling alone in your grief, stress, or sadness is an overwhelming place to be. For many of us, facing a major loss or life transition without support can lead to feeling stuck or even hopeless. These emotions are normal if you live with a chronic illness or are the caregiver for someone with a chronic illness. It is natural to desire balance and moments of relief in your daily life, but you may find those difficult to create given the relentless task of managing the chronic medical condition.

I help with ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, anger, executive functioning challenges, and relationship concerns.
“There are 3 ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind. The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind.” — Fred Rogers - I’ve wanted to help people for as long as I can remember, but my path to becoming a therapist took shape in high school as I grew curious about family dynamics and emotions—especially in environments where many struggles went unspoken. Raising children as a single parent and facing challenges at home deepened my empathy and passion for supporting healing, connection, and hope.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
