These include: grief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, internal family systems therapy, emotion-focused therapy as well as the Gottman Method, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
Do you feel like you’re your own worst enemy?
Maybe you procrastinate, overthink, or numb out—even when you know it keeps you from the relationships, opportunities, or peace of mind you want. Or maybe you push yourself to impossible standards, chasing perfection while quietly abandoning your own needs. On the outside you look capable and put-together, but inside you feel stuck in cycles of self-sabotage, self-abandonment, and perfectionism. You may wonder: Why can’t I just get it together? What happened to the version of me I thought I’d be by now?

I am trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, and Internal Family Systems ( IFS).
Sometimes the ways we learned to survive no longer fit the life we want to live. You may find yourself stuck in unhelpful repetitive patterns, overwhelmed by emotions that seem to come from nowhere, or carrying stress, shame, or self-doubt that feels exhausting & overwhelming to manage. Often, these struggles make more sense when we begin looking at them through the lens of trauma, attachment, and the nervous system. Therapy with me is about more than reducing symptoms. It’s about understanding what’s underneath them, building resilience, and creating a life that feels steadier and more aligned to who you want to be.

My approach is flexible and collaborative, drawing on evidence-based models such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, IFS, and EFT.
You don’t have to have it all figured out to start therapy. I work with people who feel ready for something different, even if they’re not sure what that looks like yet. My clients often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves and others. They want to feel grounded, confident, and more at peace in their relationships and daily life. Together, we create space to untangle old patterns, process emotions, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

Hi, I’m Chris. My path to becoming a therapist wasn’t traditional. I earned my bachelor’s degree in music education from Utah State University and taught junior high music for three years before becoming a school counselor, where I worked with students from kindergarten through 9th grade for five years. These experiences showed me the value of having someone to talk to. I pursued a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy because I’m passionate about helping people grow and heal in their relationships.

I will variety of interventions to help you including parts work( IFS), EMDR, DBT, CBT, & other experiential approaches.
Do you wake up every morning and think "I can’t get out of bed”? It seems like too much right now! You peel yourself out of bed anyway, because you know you have to get going. You have to do all the “things” to make the world function for the humans in your life, but some days it feels like too much. You think this shouldn’t be this hard. I should know what to do and yet you still don’t make any change. You turn on the podcasts and the audiobooks, but no matter how many you listen to you just cannot get yourself to make lasting change. If you could just talk this out maybe you would not feel so stuck and so alone.

I draw from Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems ( IFS), and other approaches as needed, always tailoring therapy to your unique needs rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all model.
You may be coming to therapy because something in your life no longer fits—your faith, your relationships, your sense of self, or the way you’ve been coping. Transitions like these can feel confusing, painful, and at times surprisingly liberating. You don’t have to navigate them alone. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, faith and religious transitions, attachment concerns, trauma, and major life changes. I personally understand the complexity that often comes with change, including the grief, uncertainty, and growth that can exist side by side.

My work integrates IFS, EMDR, and trauma-focused, attachment-based approaches.
Trauma may often leave us feeling disconnected—from ourselves, and the inner wisdom that guides us. While I believe in our innate ability to heal, life experiences can sometimes cloud that connection. My passion is working with those who have experienced trauma, helping them rediscover self-trust, reconnect with lost parts of themselves, and move toward healing with greater awareness, empathy, and compassion. It’s my mission to guide you on this journey with care, helping you reclaim a sense of wholeness and connection.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.
How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.
Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.
How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
