Ugh, starting with a new therapist is nerve-racking! No one wants to start all over and tell their whole life story again. I promise you this will be (relatively) painless. People describe meeting with me as like talking to a favorite aunt or a trusted friend. Together, we can figure out where you are and how to get you where you want to go.

I enjoy working with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds. My passion has been trauma treatment from the first moment I started working with clients in grad school. I also spent three years working at an addictions treatment center, and I have empathy for those struggling with substances. While trauma is my passion, I also handle depression, anxiety, bipolar and grief reactions on a daily basis. If you are ready for a change, or would like to be ready for change, let's talk about how to help you move through these steps together.

I offer an integration of IFS, Brainspotting, EMDR, Yoga therapy, Integral Somatic Psychology, and Depth Psychology.
I’m Dr. Chanin, a depth-oriented somatic psychotherapist and intuitive, dedicated to helping you reconnect with your inner wisdom and heal what has been held in your nervous system for far too long. Healing is relational, embodied, and an integrative process. We all innately have what we need to heal, grow, or transform; all we need is a witness or present non-judgmental support. Allow me to be your witness and support you on your journey. Healing is not a destination; it is a process of awareness, acceptance, and transformation. I’m here to help you reclaim what trauma, loss, and systems may have taken away: connection to Self.

Using Brainspotting and Internal Family Systems (IFS), we work to gently process deeper experiences so you can feel more grounded, understood, and connected to your life.
When your mind feels like it won’t slow down, whether from anxiety, intrusive thoughts, painful memories, or grief, it can make everyday life feel overwhelming. Many people find themselves constantly battling their own thoughts or emotions, wondering why things feel so heavy or why they can’t seem to move forward.
Over time, these struggles can start to shrink your world. You may feel exhausted, disconnected, or begin to believe that something is wrong with you. In reality, these experiences are often the mind’s way of trying to cope with pain that hasn’t yet had the opportunity to fully process.
You don’t have to face this alone.

Using DBT, attachment-based, and Brainspotting (Level 2 trained), I help you regulate emotions, process trauma, understand relational patterns, and break cycles that keep you stuck.
You might be someone who feels things deeply—creative, intuitive, and most yourself when you’re moving, exploring, or creating. I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you find balance between acceptance and change. Maybe you’ve been pushing through anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, or burnout, trying to stay strong while quietly losing touch with what grounds you. You long to reconnect with your purpose, confidence, and creativity—to feel at peace again. I also enjoy supporting teens and children with big emotions, helping them (and their families) build coping skills, confidence, and a stronger sense of self.

I deliver my strongest results for high-achieving professionals, most often women and niche service providers, navigating complex, male-dominated transactional industries. You have built a strong public persona to survive in those spaces, but at what cost? My practice offers a rare dynamic: a formidable, safe male presence. Leveraging my background in Law (JD) alongside clinical mastery, our sessions are a haven of discretion where you can drop the performance. We don't dismantle your armor; we restore the woman behind the armor who is tired of carrying the emotional load for others who can't appreciate her needs.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.
Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.
How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.
How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
