trauma
-informed care, motivational interviewing, EMDR, psycho-somatic processing, and mindfulness.
635 Community Health Collective focuses on supporting Black, Indigenous, POC, and LGBTQ+ children, teens, and adults navigating issues related to identity,

(racialized or other), depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. As BIPOC clinicians we strive to hold space for individuals as they find new ways to make themselves whole. We believe that when we explore and begin to connect our thoughts, emotions, sensorimotor experiences, and our relationships with others, we can understand what it is like to feel safe in our own bodies, and engage in problem solving and intentional decision making.

I treat anxiety, depression, grief,
trauma
, identity, relationship, and self esteem, addiction recovery, dual diagnoses, emotional regulation, and navigating life transitions.
Sometimes we wake up and things don't feel right. Things that used to be easy aren't anymore. We might not like ourselves. We may be grieving, but don't know how to do so in a healthy way. We may feel like we've lost our way; and that things are out of control. We may feel sad, or hurt, angry, afraid, confused, alienated, or stuck and we don't know why or how to leave those feelings behind. We may have trouble regulating our emotions. We may feel alone. It takes courage to face challenges and move beyond them towards mental and emotional peace. Thank you for being so brave and taking this first step.

How can we expect to run, if we have not yet learned to walk? All too often, we place pressure, self-doubt, fear, and beat ourselves up physically, emotionally, and mentally when we falter and fail in life’s pursuit. No matter the circumstances, at some point, we need someone to walk or wheel alongside us in our journey. As a multi-cultural, differently abled, first-generation immigrant Latina therapist, I take pride in being
trauma
-informed and understanding the intersectionality that individuals from all walks of life encounter. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, & empowering space for my clients to confront their problems.

I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced
trauma
, co-occurring disorders, and those who struggle with substance use.
I believe everyone has what it takes to find joy, peace, and love in their lives through vulnerability and connection. After working through my own trials, I discovered that I wanted to help others and decided to become a therapist. I found a love for listening to others and trying to understand how their stories have shaped their view of themselves and the world. I enjoy connecting with people by encouraging them to explore new ways to find happiness within themselves and their relationships.

Welcome! I'm glad you're here. There are many reasons why we reach out for help: life transitions, grief & loss,
trauma
, relationship issues. Sometimes it's simply that we "just feel stuck." I believe therapy is most effective when we first understand what healing and growth mean to you and set meaningful goals based on this vision. Healing comes from both understanding your existing strengths and unpacking your struggles. I take great care in creating a safe, kind, and nurturing therapeutic space to support this journey.

Trauma
work is hard, but you are strong and you are worth it.
I believe that a person is truly capable of change, with the right knowledge and tools. I believe that each person is different and
trauma
affects each of us so differently. Learning how to cope and better our situation is meant to be unique for each person. I believe that there is no band-aid approach, in order to resolve one's suffering one must be ready to work hard and heal from the inside out.

When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
