I use methods including mindfulness, Somatic EMDR,Jungian psychology,, trauma-informed care, and attachment-based therapies to facilitate this discovery and healing process.
My practice is about creating and enhancing a meaningful life. Through a belief that our disturbances--about ourselves, others or life in general - lead us to the doorway of toward wholeness, we work together to unfold the seed of the solution from within the problems. Thus, I approach each client with a desire to follow and facilitate their unique healing process. Through deep compassion toward self, dreamwork and process work, I identify lesser conscious aspects of one's self, which we work together to bring into awareness. With this awareness one can find more meaning and a stronger purpose in life.

I work with individuals and families utilizing attachment-based practices, EMDR, and other experiential modalities.
I believe everyone has what it takes to find joy, peace, and love in their lives through vulnerability and connection. After working through my own trials, I discovered that I wanted to help others and decided to become a therapist. I found a love for listening to others and trying to understand how their stories have shaped their view of themselves and the world. I enjoy connecting with people by encouraging them to explore new ways to find happiness within themselves and their relationships.

I operate from an attachment-based lens, seeing the value and power of secure connection and the importance of safety in healing.
Seeking help in therapy takes strength and bravery, and I applaud clients for taking the first steps. It's easy to be hard on ourselves about how we feel or how we respond to our experiences. Sometimes we feel stuck, individually or in our relationships, and it can be hard to see a new path. I'm passionate about helping clients reach their potential to grow, change the patterns that no longer serve them, and move past the obstacles in their way. I work with clients to process and heal, create greater connections in their relationships, communicate more effectively, create healthy boundaries, and move through life more confidently.

My work is primarily centered around understanding the client's story and understanding where there has been loss that has gone unresolved. I primarily work from an attachment based perspective, which means I look at the client's relationships and understand how that affects their day to day life. I also highly emphasize the importance of being patient and taking time to work through the trauma that one has endured, whether it is perceived as big or small.

I use a compassion-focused and attachment-based approach.
I deeply enjoy working with adults and teens with ADHD, anxiety, or depression, or who want to gain a deeper understanding of who they are. Life’s challenges can leave you feeling stuck in pain, shame, or emptiness. You may have thoughts and feelings that stop you from connecting with others or knowing how you bring value to the world. If you have (or suspect you have) ADHD, you may feel overwhelmed from constantly trying to fit into a box that wasn't made for you. Together, we will explore your struggles, values, and strengths to cope with challenges and reconnect with your authentic self.

My office will be a space where you can feel comfortable and safe. Therapy requires vulnerability and sitting with discomfort. With me, you'll receive a lot of compassion and support. My expertise in processing trauma, as well as the coping skills I can teach you, will benefit your life in a positive way, if you choose to implement them. Do you ever have “big” reactions to things that don’t necessarily fit the situation? Does it get in the way of feeling confident in yourself or your relationships? That is an exhausting experience.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
