I enjoy working with individuals as they navigate life challenges. Life can make anyone feel stuck at times, I am here to work alongside you to identify potential directions. I hope to assist you in navigating thoughts, emotions, beliefs, relationships, circumstances, and patterns of behavior that have interfered with your sense of well-being. I help those I serve master boundaries and emotional regulation. I help individuals learn to manage
anger
or intense emotions in the present moment to react in ways that align with their goals or desired outcomes. I believe in the importance of highlighting your strengths in our work together.

Are you feeling angry? Maybe in the dumps with little motivation? Is your mind often scattered or confused? Paralyzed by worry? Do you often experience conflict in relationships which mean the most to you? Does it seem like regardless of the efforts you make, returns are minimal to none? I have built my practice helping others reconnect to their innate place of clarity and well-being, to then resume life guided by their self-power and wisdom, experiencing a true satisfaction and success.

I work with youth, adults, families and couples, struggling with Depression, Anxiety ADHD, Behavioral issues, Adoption and Attachment, Faith crisis, Trauma,
Anger
and LGBTQIA issues.
Every individual has inherent value, strengths and gifts. I use compassion and a variety of clinical interventions to help my clients work through the challenges that are preventing them from experiencing life in a more fulfilling way. Too often we succumb to the narrative that we are not good enough, flawed, broken. You may have suffered due to trauma and harm inflicted by others or a painful life event. We will work together to help you recognize their own resiliency, heal trauma and harmful messages and gain effective coping strategies.

“When we deny our stories, they define us. When we own our stories, we get to write a brave new ending.” Brene Brown. This statement resinates in how I work with clients. Owning your story allows you to slow down and stand in your own truth; owning your truths gives you power over them rather than allowing your pain, struggles and misconceptions to have power over you. Working together in a safe environment we identify and hone your strengths, as you shape your life into the story you envision and deserve, and you find peace in the midst of chaos.

As humans, it is not a matter of ‘if’ we will encounter the less glamorous aspects of life, but ‘when’. Each of us has the innate capacity to work through moments of change and transformation although, at times, that truth may feel impossible, false, or inadequate. As a practicing clinical therapist, my intention is to collaborate with you to support your own inner power to regain control in your life within a nonjudgmental and confidential safe space. In fostering your unique abilities together through exploration, processing, and individualized modalities, it is my goal to empower you to aspire to your full potential.

I have a wide array of experience working with varying trauma responses including but not limited to: Flashbacks, Anxiety, Depression, Food Restriction, Insomnia, Isolation, Chronic Fear, Loneliness, Negative Self Beliefs, Chaotic Substance Use, Avoidance, Dissociation - Relational Stress,
Anger
, Hopelessness, Grief.
I practice primarily from a compassion-oriented perspective. In my practice, I embrace vulnerability and lean on the power of human connection. My approach to this work centers on the mind-body connection, nervous system awareness + relational equity as the most valuable components in healing from trauma. All of the biggest emotions are welcomed in the container we co-create. Trauma can create an imbalance in power dynamics and rigid options in our lives, so power-sharing + access to choice will be the anchor we often come back to.

I provide therapy not only because I strive to support others, but because I believe therapy works. I admire the vulnerability and strength that go into the healing process. I know you have within you what it takes to heal, but that doesn't mean you have to do it alone. You deserve to feel safe enough in both your mind and body to fully engage in life. My clients are seeking out therapy for relief from their complex trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and/or
anger
. I work with anyone ages 14 and up.

How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
