As a result of my own personal and professional exploration over the last 40+ years, I work most effectively with individuals who have not succeeded in establishing and sustaining nourishing, satisfying, intimate, committed, relationships in their lives. At this stage of my career, I am interested in working with individuals or couples who want to enhance their capacity for meaningful, intimate relationships.

I provide space for you to break down self-destructive thought and behavioral patterns often caused by a history of trauma , abuse, or loss. You soon begin living your potential with improved body, mind, and soul connection. In couples therapy, I assist in healing the partnership by regaining connection and establishing shared meaning for more consistent positive interactions and fulfilling relationship.

I have a down-to-earth, non-judgmental approach to therapy. My hope is to put people at ease when they are working through issues that are deeply personal and difficult. I'm comfortable talking about sexuality, drug use, abuse, suicidal ideation, relationship issues, and conflicts with religion, etc. I like to help people increase awareness of themselves and others and to increase their ability to connect to what is important to them. I use EMDR, Sand Tray Therapy, and DBT to support clients connecting to their emotions, learning from experiences, and creating a life worth living.

I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in mood disorders, trauma , infertility, family conflict, sexual abuse, and relationship difficulties (including domestic violence). I am bilingual in Spanish and am sensitive to the cultural aspects of Latino/Hispanic clients. I treat clients suffering from depression, chronic stress, anxiety, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder ( PTSD ), infertility and post-partum issues. My style is warm, compassionate, and direct, and together we will work together to find your unique voice and inner wisdom. I believe that each client is an expert on their own life.

I employ a variety of therapeutic modalities to conceptualize problems and create interventions, including acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, and treatments rooted in the latest neuroscience.

One of the most important things we need in our own lives is balance. This is often difficult to achieve with life's constant demands on our time and energy. Without balance, life becomes wearisome and at times, unmanageable. We begin to wonder if there is meaning in our lives or even if it's "worth the trouble." In the effort to find relief or comfort, we may find ourselves drawn to self-defeating and even destructive behaviors that offer immediate yet temporary relief. There are other options, a different perspective may help. I offer just this to my clients.
