I believe our relationships matter more than anything else in life. For you, this may (or may not) include relationships with family, friends, and those in your community. These kinds of meaningful connections are imperative to our happiness and well-being. The key? Thriving relationships require a healthy relationship with yourself. With compassion, kindness, and a hint of humor, I can guide you in building a better understanding of the unique person you are, help you identify what you want and need, teach you skills and strategies for success, and support you in personal transformation.

As a PhD marriage and family therapist, I have successfully helped couples, families, individuals and college students find happiness in life. I believe everyone has the power to change. However, we often get stuck. Over the years I have participated in peoples amazing transformations as they become unstuck and learn how to be happy, have healthy relationships, overcome trials and other problems. I've found that everyone I've met with in therapy can change and be happy if they want to. Morning, day and evening sessions available.

Have you ever felt so low that the thought of even getting up was exhausting? Felt like you had no control over your day? Or felt so much yet were unable to know why or how to appropriately have those emotions? Yet, here you are taking the first step. I can’t even imagine how big of a step that may be for you, but I’m proud of you for that. My role exists so that I can help people accept their reality and guide them towards what actually matters within their own lives by using compassion and acceptance.

On the outside, you appear to be thriving; internally, you are exhausted. When all your energy is poured into meeting life’s endless obligations, it is easy to lose your sense of self in the process. Many of my clients are thoughtful, clear on their values, yet feel caught in heavy patterns of fatigue and "autopilot" functioning that keep them from moving forward. I offer a steady, non-judgmental space to identify the specific internal and external blocks holding you back. Together, we will build a meaningful bridge between the roles you play today and the authentic, grounded person you want to become.

When you are feeling like you can’t do it anymore, remember you don't have to do it alone. Whether you are overwhelmed by anxiety, parenting, navigating trauma, working through a difficult relationship, or just trying to make sense of life, therapy can be a place to pause, reflect, and heal. I’m Jenae, a Clinical Social Worker (CSW) who brings compassion, humor, and evidence-based practices into the therapy room. I have always been interested in people’s stories, understanding how they see the world as they do, and how they have overcome challenges. Each of us has a rich, often complicated history that led us to the present moment. As a psychologist, it is an honor and privilege to get to know my patients’ histories, understand what got them here, and help them to be who they want to be in the world.

Infertility Therapists
How can infertility affect couples and their relationship?
Clients who are dealing with infertility may experience conflict and communication problems. It’s not unusual for shame, blame, and guilt to arise in cases of infertility, whether the source of the problem is one partner or both. This means that clients are upset and pulling away from their partner just when they need them the most. Some clients may find it difficult to spend time around friends and family who are pregnant. Friends and family can also make hurtful comments that increase tension during this time.

How does therapy for infertility issues work?
The therapist will begin by gathering information about the client or couple and make a treatment plan for their specific concerns. In addition to addressing common mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma reactions or PTSD, therapists can help clients improve their decision-making and deal with stressors unique to infertility. Some examples include coping with the “two-week wait” before a pregnancy test, the distress associated with a failed attempt or miscarriage, and the shame and blame sometimes associated with reproductive concerns.

What type of therapy is best for infertility issues?
Many therapists offer psychotherapy for individuals and couples who are dealing with infertility issues. Some helpful therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which can aid clients in reframing negative thoughts about their situation. Expressive writing and art therapy can help clients process difficult feelings. Clients might also benefit from group therapy to experience support from others who are dealing with the same problems.

How long does therapy for infertility issues take?
There is no set length for therapy that addresses infertility or reproductive concerns. Some clients might find it helpful to continue therapy during their pregnancy to have healthy ways to cope with any associated stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma. Some clients who decide not to pursue fertility treatments might benefit from the support of a therapist. The duration of therapy varies depending on the individual client’s specific needs and goals.
