The moment your beliefs shift, it can feel like the ground under your life moves too. But what no one tells you is how disorienting—and lonely—that can feel. Have you found yourself quietly questioning things you were never supposed to question… and not knowing where that leaves you? Whether you're navigating a faith transition, a mixed-faith relationship, or untangling identity, sexuality, or roles that no longer fit—you deserve space to think out loud without being fixed, judged, or preached at.

All are welcome! I work the most with individuals and couples that are navigating multiple intersecting identities and mental health concerns. As a trans veteran, I find it easy to connect with members of the LGBTQ and veteran communities. I can help members navigate life and the nuances that come with those identities by drawing on experience, training, and education. Clients often find that not having to explain things that feel basic really makes therapy accessible. This baseline can help the navigation of trauma and PTSD to feel less dark and lonely.

I have nearly 47 years experience in many different settings working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families. I enjoy working with all people and believe each person has taught me that all people have unique genetic and environmental backgrounds. I have been trained in many different treatment/therapy modalities. No single modality is capable of treating all people. While there are some general "norms", each person has many unique biological and social influences that are constantly changing and individually being interpreted resulting in different normalities for each person.

Beginning the process of therapy can be daunting and messy. You may be feeling alone while struggling with anxiety, depression, and possibly some negative self talk such as I’m not good enough, I’m a failure, a burden, etc. If that’s the case, I am here to tell you that you are not alone. Many individuals struggle with these things and having someone to talk to about it can really help! My therapeutic style very much so represents my roots. I have the casual CA laid back personality mixed with some keeping it real east coast energy. I show up as my full self and am not your typical tell me how that makes you feel kind of therapist.

Do you often feel like you’re never doing enough or that you’re falling short, no matter how hard you try? Many college students and adults carry the impact of past experiences or trauma, showing up as perfectionism, people-pleasing, excessive guilt, and critical self-talk. I help clients feel less stuck by reconnecting with their values, building self-compassion, and creating a more grounded, authentic way forward.

I primarily use Exposure and Response Prevention ( ERP), the most effective treatment for OCD and anxiety.
I specialize in helping individuals overcome OCD and anxiety so they can feel more in control of their lives. I have several years of experience working in an intensive outpatient program, where I supported clients with OCD, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, and body-focused concerns. I also bring lived experience with OCD, which allows me to truly understand how exhausting and discouraging anxiety can feel—and how possible meaningful change really is.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
