Life is full of seasons - and some of the hardest come in the middle of our story. Whether you're navigating changing roles in your marriage, parenting adult or teen children, facing unexpected transitions, or carrying the weight of anxiety, depression, or trauma, it can feel overwhelming and isolating. You may be doing your best, yet still feel stuck, exhausted, or unsure of who you are becoming.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward, you're not alone. I work with teenagers and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, school or work stress, identity questions, and major life changes. With my background in crisis work and the emergency room, I understand how heavy things can feel - and how important it is to have someone steady, calm, and supportive by your side. I especially enjoy working with teens and young adults, helping them build confidence, coping skills, and a stronger sense of self. I offer evening appointments making it easier for busy students and working adults to get help.

Religious trauma. Spiritual abuse. Recovery from purity culture. For the past ten years, I’ve specialized in supporting women with complex trauma. In recent years, I’ve added a specialization in religious trauma. Like other forms of trauma, religious trauma often shows up as anxiety, depression, and relational struggles. I primarily work with women, but I’m also an affirming ally of the LGBTQ community. My goal is to help clients untangle the web of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that keep them feeling stuck—and support them in reclaiming a sense of safety and self. Let's go deeper than symptom relief into real emotional healing.

My approach is influenced by IFS, ACT, and EMDR.
You've been pushing along for so long, just trying to get by. Struggling with managing your emotions, you find yourself withdrawing, having less patience for those you are closest to. Perhaps being intimate and close with your partner feels impossible, or is painful and unfulfilling. You've noticed yourself questioning if those difficult experiences you thought you had dealt with are actually impacting you. What you are feeling is valid and deserves a space to be heard and healed. Each person's path to wholeness is unique. Let's help you heal, feel more connected, and find the peace you deserve.

One of my deepest held beliefs is that, in general, everyone is doing the best they can in life with what they currently believe to be true. Rather than feeling judged or ashamed of one's personal life struggles, people need to feel supported through being offered new ideas and by being reminded of their own inborn, unwavering worth. In my therapy practice, I strive to help others reconnect with that worth and with their own personal value system that their hearts know to be true. We are all students of life and we are all still learning.

It is hard when life is not going how you had hoped or imagined. Maybe there have been past negative experiences that are still impacting your mood or relationships—leaving you feeling on edge, worried, or overwhelmed. Perhaps you’ve felt stuck in old patterns, feeling isolated and unsure how to start or continue on your healing journey. All of this can feel even heavier when loneliness or isolation is piled on top. I’m glad you’re here, and I’m proud of you for taking this step.

The types of therapy I use most often are Person-Centered, EMDR, IFS, Experiential, and mindfulness based therapies like DBT/ ACT.
Maybe you don’t need to be fixed. Maybe you just need to be understood. I work with teens and adults who feel overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or stuck, especially the ones who look like they’re handling everything just "fine". My clients are often high-achievers, helpers, deep thinkers, and neurodivergent individuals who are exhausted from holding it all together. If you struggle with shame, ADHD, high masking autism, complex trauma, anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, or chronic stress, you are not alone, and you are not broken.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
