I have significant experience working with adoption and attachment related issues with teens, trauma , depression, anxiety, substance abuse, autoimmune and other health related issues.
I am passionate about supporting those ready and willing to face the trials and traumas that we all experience on some level. I love working with individuals seeking support to create change in their lives. It is easy to get stuck and we often hold onto past traumas and hurts that can create mental, emotional, physical and spiritual dis-ease. Finding your way back to self is critical in living a heart centered life and that is my hope for you. Healing is possible and we are not meant to walk this path alone. One of my mantras is "Turn your pain into your purpose". I do believe we can make peace with our past. Are you ready?

I enjoy working with trauma , stress, and depression.
I love working with individuals that struggle in life and feel as if all is lost. Once they come to therapy they learn new ways to deal with their stress, depression, and anxiety. Through learning coping skills the individual finds a new way of living and they become the butterfly that they were meant to be.

For clients suffering from trauma , I'll help you process your adverse memories so you no longer have to live in the pain.
You may be thinking, “We need a couple’s therapist, but it will feel awkward talking to someone.” If so, you wouldn’t be alone! One of the reason’s I love working with the Gottman Method is that it puts couples at ease. It’s respectful and collaborative and couples feel they can open up and be heard. Issues I often address are intense fighting, affairs and betrayals, deep hurts, financial difficulties, parenting issues, and feelings of disconnection. Whatever your challenge, my goal is to help you feel understood, using a warm positive style to teach you the skills to succeed in your marriage.

I specialize in helping women overcome depression, anxiety and trauma .
One of the most difficult things about depression, anxiety and PTSD is that you can feel all alone in the experience. It can be hard to share it with others especially when they know you as the girl-who-can-do-it-all. That disconnect from others is painful but even worse is the disconnect you can feel from yourself. Paranoia, irritability, brain-fog and fatigue take their toll and steal the joy and positive energy you once claimed for yourself. It can make you question everything you thought you knew about yourself and fuel resentment and doubt. Therapy can provide a relationship and a process to help you move forward.

I am taking not taking new clients. Reach out be put on my waiting list. Therapeutic fit, or how well we “click,” is one of the strongest predictors of successful therapy. In therapy you’ve got to feel able to take risks and be vulnerable. I’m a Certificated Daring Way Facilitator, a therapeutic approach based on Brené Brown’s research on vulnerability & shame (root of perfectionism & feeling not good enough). I am also trained in DBT (emotion regulation skill development), EMDR ( trauma approach) and shame resiliency. I have over 15 years of experience. Let's get you taking steps toward your highest self!

I am trained in EMDR, a powerful psychotherapy technique that successfully helps people who suffer from trauma , disturbing memories, PTSD , and emotional distress.
Do you feel alone in a world that seems to be falling apart and wake up every morning looking for the peace that has eluded you? Are you living a life of quiet desperation and looking for relief from hopelessness? Do you find yourself disconnected from others? We all have stories we tell ourselves that hold us back from finding true meaning in our lives. I believe the answers are already within you and I can help navigate this unfamiliar road to healing. Therapy can help us take the moment to reflect on what drives us, moves us, and gives us joy.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
