In this busy, stressful world, it can be tough to feel like you have the time or ability to address your mental health. Yet it’s so vital to do so. Reaching out and making that first introduction or phone call can be the hardest part of therapy. If you are experiencing symptoms that affect your daily life, therapy can be of great help. I specialize in trauma therapy using EMDR, divorce, infidelity, shame, self-esteem and relationship issues. Office appointments are now available.

I am passionate about my work as a therapist and I consider it an honor to work with individuals and couples as they come to recognize their strengths, establish deeper connections, and discover hope as the catalyst for change in their lives. I am trained in family systems theory and use modalities such as emotion-focused therapy and solution-focused therapy to help you with issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, spirituality, betrayal trauma, rebuilding trust, pornography, and sexual addictions. I have received additional training in trauma-informed therapy and utilize these principles in my work with clients.

Your stress lifts, self esteem begins to rise and your boundaries strengthen!.
Women experiencing depression, anxiety and trauma / PTSD can have a range of painful experiences. Day to day, chronic irritability can wear on your nerves and drive your stress level sky high. Are you are on-edge as soon as you start getting ready for the day, feeling sensitive, reactive or foggy even though the sun has barely come up? And when the day is done you want to relax but this is when your heart starts to pound in your chest. None of your coping skills seem to help enough, if you can muster the strength and time to use them. This is the reality of depression, anxiety and trauma.

I help clients who have tried traditional therapy, yet continue to suffer from unresolved trauma and emotional distress. I specialize in modernized therapeutic interventions that treat the nervous system, subconscious, limbic system in an integrated approach. I feel it is important to understand how the past impacts the present, allowing the subconscious presence for reprocessing. I believe that it is crucial to help clients learn to pay attention to thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations in the moment so they can better understand, tolerate, & ultimately move beyond their distress.

My therapy practice is fueled by my core belief that each of us as human beings have innate worth as well as boundless potential for growth and joy. Sometimes we all experience challenges that make it difficult for us to feel that joy and live our lives the way we want to, and I believe that is where therapy can be helpful. My number one priority as a therapist is to create a space for clients to feel safe and heard while we embark on the journey towards change and healing together. I strive to offer real connection and a listening ear, as well as tools and skills to help clients reach their goals.

I believe in meeting the person where they are in life. Talking to someone in a therapeutic setting can be intimidating, generally most people find it uncomfortable to talk to a stranger about the things that bother them or hurt them. I understand and respect that personal caution and assure you that, at no time I will judge you or your situation. The basic premise is to help people in a trauma informed setting gain new coping skills because the ones used in the past are no longer effective. I believe in helping people look inside themselves and find their own answers that fit within their value system.

In life, difficult situations occur. These experiences can make us anxious, question ourselves and our self-worth, and affect our ability to connect with others and plan for the future we desire. Through EMDR and a mix of other empirically based modalities, it is possible to heal from past trauma, feel more empowered, and increase life satisfaction generally. I have been in the field for eighteen years and a therapist for thirteen. I have also been an administrator, supervisor, and trainer for therapists. During that time, I have come to appreciate how change is possible in our lives and in our relationships with others.

Self Esteem Therapists
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
