I am accepting new clients and offer Online Counseling via Telehealth. I've provided over 10,000 hours of therapy and like Confucius said, "Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life." I managed LDS Family Services for 13 years and loved directing the 12-step Addiction Recovery Program in Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania. I've been recruited by multiple residential treatment centers, a hospital, a skilled nursing facility, and by an IOP program assessing and treating substance abuse and domestic violence.

Trained in BBIM, BrainSpotting, suicide assessments, crisis intervention, and trauma informed care.
I support people who have been carrying a heavy emotional load for a long time, often quietly and on their own. Many are first responders, military members, caretakers, parents, or individuals who have spent years taking care of everyone else while pushing their own needs aside. On the outside, they may seem strong and capable, but inside they feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck in survival mode. They may be navigating chronic stress, burnout, trauma, grief, anxiety, emotional numbness, or difficulties connecting with others. What they often need is a calm, steady, nonjudgmental space where they can finally exhale and feel safe.

My ideal clients are people who are tired of surviving and ready to begin living again. Many come to me carrying the weight of trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, or substance use, often feeling stuck despite their best efforts. I don’t see people as broken—I see people whose experiences have shaped the way they view themselves and the world. Together, we build a trusting relationship where those experiences can be understood, processed, and integrated, helping you move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and hope.

Do you constantly overthink, feel emotionally exhausted, or struggle to quiet the pressure in your head? Maybe you look successful on the outside but internally feel anxious, disconnected, stuck, or never fully good enough. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship issues, addiction, or pornography use while repeating the same painful patterns—people-pleasing, shutting down emotionally, avoiding vulnerability, or using distraction, pornography, substances, or shutting down to escape stress or emotions.

You are worthy of love. You deserve to be listened to. You are worthy of receiving goodness. I want you to feel validated. Your trauma is stored in your nervous system, so I utilize therapies like EMDR to work to relieve you of your burden. When you work with me, I offer empathy and compassion. By the end of each appointment with me, I want you to feel like you’ve been heard and that you’ve gained something valuable, whether that’s new coping skills or an improved sense of peace or strength.

When you come into my office you don’t need to wear a mask or pose as your best self, because I want to help the part of you that’s struggling and that feels misunderstood. Instead, let me help you slow down and take a look at where you actually are. Let my office be somewhere you don’t have to pretend or wear the “it’s fine” mask. Too often we say the phrase “I should…” But how often does that actually get us where we want to go? Why don’t we try something different, where we stop ourselves from “should-ing” on our lives.

You might feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in your own head, even while continuing to function at a high level. You get things done and show up for others, yet your mind doesn’t slow down. You replay conversations, overthink decisions, or carry constant pressure that’s hard to turn off. Part of you feels like you should be able to handle it, which makes it harder to talk about.
I work with individuals facing this kind of stress. Many are professionals, students, expat/TCK, LGBTQIA+, POC, and others navigating life transitions, identity, and belonging.

CLICK the link to my website and schedule your appointment today! Unresolved issues and continuous conflict in your relationship can have a negative affect on your mental health. The right therapist will help you to successfully communicate with your partner and change unpleasant behaviors that prevent a deeper emotional connection. Working with me may NOT be blissful as I am a firm believer that barriers to connection need to be directly addressed even if it is uncomfortable. Therapy is not an easy plight, but if you do the therapeutic work required, you will experience emotional, mental, and spiritual growth.

Intervention Therapists
How does an intervention work?
An intervention is a planned, structured meeting in which a person’s family or friends voice concerns about the person’s behavior and its consequences; the goal is for the person to accept treatment. In this meeting, the person’s loved ones (often with the guidance of a trained interventionist) share how the person’s behavior has harmed them and the consequences if the person refuses treatment. They collectively ask the person to accept a proposed treatment plan.
How effective are interventions?
There isn’t extensive research on the efficacy of interventions, in part because success is difficult to measure. Individuals often enter addiction treatment after an intervention, for example, but treatment itself may not work, especially if the person only begins due to external pressure from others rather than due to internal motivation to change. However, if all other attempts at helping someone have failed, an intervention may be worth exploring.
What are the limitations of interventions?
While a friend or family member’s intentions are in the right place in wanting to help a loved one through an intervention, there are significant limitations to the approach. The surprising nature of the event can make the person feel ambushed or judged. They may feel embarrassed or ashamed as a result, and relationships may be strained or broken. This can make it difficult for the individual to be receptive to the concerns of their loved ones and the interventionist.
Are there alternatives to interventions?
Rather than confronting a loved one through an intervention, an effective and less pressured approach is to create space for a caring, open, one-on-one conversation. This works best if the loved one asks open-ended questions, listens attentively to the answers, and frames their observations and statements with concern rather than judgment. More than one conversation may be needed, but change can take root over time.
