I specialize in psychedelic integration and trauma-healing. My clinical work and training has been focused on assisting those with emotional, behavioral, and social concerns, many of which stem from a history of adverse experiences, reach a place where their actions and lives are led by True Self. I began providing therapy in a substance abuse treatment facility and am now the Clinical Director of a residential program for adults. I worked for a few years with incarcerated adolescents in a long-term secure facility. I now work with individuals of diverse ages, histories, and treatment goals.

I believe that humans are wired for meaning, connection, and belonging. Most of our struggles in life are intimately tied to how we experience our relationships—including with ourselves—and how we find purpose. Through a unique integration of Western and Eastern principles of human thriving, I support individuals and couples seeking emotional, sexual, and spiritual wholeness, as well as deeper healing and intimacy in their relationships with themselves and others. As awareness precedes power, my goal is to help clients increase in self-understanding so they feel empowered to then address personal difficulties on their own terms.

Many of us have experienced some form of trauma. Trauma is when an event happens that exceeds our ability to cope at the moment. That means that what might be traumatic to one person might not be for another. Trauma can be a car accident, a divorce, the loss of someone, or abuse of some kind. I am compassionate and love to help people live their best lives. Depression and anxiety can happen to all of us, sometimes it is a response to the environment, and other times it is more chronic. Which ever it is for you I can help you get to a better place in life. I particularly love to work with children help them heal early on.

I use a trauma informed, holistic approach with EMDR, Brainspotting, and
IFS
at the forefront of treatment.
The challenges we face as individuals, as a community, and as a society can have a profound impact on the way we view the world, ourselves and others. Exposure to multiple adverse life experiences over time (experienced directly or in anticipation of adverse experiences) can progressively increase symptoms of anxiety, depression, clinical, and sub-clinical PTSD and even impact the state and health of our bodies. Adverse life experiences are often stored in the body and can be coded to our DNA. Somatic forms of therapy such as EMDR and Brainspotting help to adjust this lens by integrating and fully reprocessing adverse experiences.

In my practice I utilize body oriented somatic approaches, Internal
Family Systems
, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness practices.
I have deep compassion for you and the struggles you face. Our experiences of anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and trauma (just to name a few) can leave us feeling isolated and hopeless. The good news is that things can actually change, regardless of how stuck they may feel. The people I work with have a desire to heal old patterns that hold them back. They want to experience a greater sense of freedom in their lives.

, Compassion Focused therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, and general mindfulness practices.
Much of what life brings to us is unexpected and even painful. If you are feeling stuck, lost, or realizing something needs to change in your life, I am here to help you through the process. It can be intimidating to try to face problems alone and make sense of them. This is why I believe it is so important to approach struggles from a place of compassion, understanding and openness. It is my experience that, given the right resources and tools, people can be resilient and have the ability to gain strength through challenges and thrive.

We are wired for connection. Our desire for connection is inherent; it's just who we are. Sometimes we struggle to connect and know how to interact with people close to us. I believe that knowing how to regulate ourselves and understanding what's happening in us creates space to interact with those close to us in the ways we really want. I believe my clients have in them the potential to find who they are be confident in that so they can be connected and experience life and relationships in the ways they want to.

Our typical clients are those with issues of sexual dysfunction. This includes those with issues of sexual desire, arousal, orgasm, pain, satisfaction, or out-of-control sexual behavior/addiction. Most of my clients are from a conservative religious background, but this is not a must. We see clients that have a range of personal beliefs and values. We meet regularly with individuals and couples. Meeting as a couple is not a must. Individuals dealing with sexual dysfunction or out-of-control sexual behavior/addiction that are not in a committed relationship are also welcomed in treatment. We also have a Spanish speaking therapist.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.
How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.
Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.
How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
