With all the financial, climate,
relationship
, and other uncertainties people face right now, there is a tendency to become overwhelmed.
People who choose traditional methods are often not able to make significant progress even after years of therapy because they focus on symptoms and coping/suppressing/denying their emotions. My clients tried EMDR, talk therapy, CBT, and others but continued to struggle to resolve their anger, sadness, fear, numbness, negative self talk, broken relationships and isolation. I use legal psychedelic medicines (cannabis and ketamine) with a patent pending somatic processing technique (SLIP) to facilitate the healing of deep emotional, attachment, and core belief wounds. Most, within 3 months are living the best lives they ever have.

If you are looking for
Couples
/Family Therapy, I can help your
relationship
discover harmony, trust, teamwork, and feelings of closeness.
I can help you work towards the real issue right away and help you start feeling better from the first session. First thing I want to say is that I am so sorry your heart is feeling a consistent pain...This pain is very important to me and I am here for you. We can make it. A broken heart is the root of most individual and
relationship
problems. The brains job is to reduce pain and numb the heart. I believe that you can learn all the coping skills in the world, however, if your heart is broken, those skills usually will not work. Once the heart feels soothed and understood then the mind may accept new solutions and skills.

I enjoy working with adults as they engage in overcoming difficult internal struggles and
relationship
challenges.
I am passionate about helping adults, children, teens, and their parents successfully navigate life’s challenges. My primary focus is on creating a safe space for people to process their struggles and discover and build on their strengths. I believe that people have what they need to thrive inside of them and my purpose is to help them access that through talk and play. I am familiar with and trained in using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I seek to help clients who are interested in psychological testing and psychotherapy. I strive to use therapeutic assessment procedures that not only help us arrive at a diagnostic conclusion, but also at place where there is a possibility for a new
relationship
with the difficult condition itself. In providing psychotherapy, I try to emphasize that life's challenges, even the most painful or uncertain, contain the seedlings of new possibilities. As we approach them together, we can open a door to renewed purpose in pursuit of what matters most to you. Don't quit! We can never exhaust our ability to experience something new!

I specialize in fostering meaningful connections with teenagers,
couples
, families, and individuals, from attachment and trauma-informed lenses.
Hey there! Glad you are here. Searching for a therapist can feel like an overwhelming process, and I'd love to help make it easier. I work best with issues related to trauma, some including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, abuse, self worth, etc. You may be telling yourself that you aren't good enough, capable, or loveable because of your life experiences. I admire the courage and vulnerability it takes to make the first steps towards healing amidst those heavy narratives, feelings, and experiences. I am here to walk that path with you, help you accomplish your goals, and find whatever healing looks like for you.

Connection in your
relationship
centers on safely shaping emotional experiences with your
partner
.
Uncertainty is inevitable but suffering doesn't have to be. There is a pathway forward through the distress of disconnection, grief and loss, faith transitions, and anxiety. Transforming painful feelings of inadequacy, unworthiness, or unmet needs can occur by creating connections through emotional processing. Therapy is tailored to your specific goals and needs with: deepening relational connection, anxiety, addictions, grief/loss, faith transition, emotional challenges, and family therapy. Creating a validating and respectful therapeutic experience is central to inviting growth and change.

I offer individuals and
couples
to residents in Utah (in-person and online) and play therapy in-person.
You made a mistake this morning. It was small, but you can’t get it out of your head. You keep thinking about it. You feel like your thoughts are a runaway train and you can’t stop them. You try to consider what you could have done differently, and yet it’s in the past. You start to question other choices you’ve made. Are you making the right call? Doubt creeps in. You find it hard to concentrate on your family or
partner
, your job, or schoolwork. Your mind hurts, your stomach hurts, body hurts. You feel exhausted; it's only been an hour.

I believe in change! My goal is to give you hope when life appears hopeless. I work with a wide variety of
relationship
and mental health issues. I believe that attachment and our need for love is critical during every phase of life. I also feel that mental health problems,
relationship
issues and addictions arise when we bury our true feelings. Change can be scary and fear of the unknown causes us cling to what we know. I am here to help you to face your fears, make a plan, and move forward toward a better way of life.

I mostly work with young adults,

In our work together, I dedicate to creating a secure space for my clients to touch their most vulnerable experiences and authentic emotions. At the same time, I empower and support them to build a new path for themselves, their family, and their future. Although I am not a member of the LDS Church, I genuinely appreciate my clients for their willingness and authenticity to teach me about their experience with the LDS church or other religious/faith backgrounds.

What if you could feel close and accepted by your
partner
, or more confident about your own purpose and place in the world? You deserve to have full, loving relationships.
Do you have a strong desire to fully love and be loved?Do you find that something always gets in the way of healthy relationships, whether that’s with romantic partners or friends and family?Maybe you have a
partner
, but find that you’re always fighting or keeping your distance from each other. Perhaps you feel lost and alone, without purpose or meaning in the world. Many people I work with have struggled with distracting behaviors, like sex or porn issues, which are really about anxiety and a fear of true connection. I help people overcome challenges, so they can find loving connections with themselves, with others, and their faith.

Relationships are hard, and anxiety surrounding them is SO normal. Our connections with others - whether with a
partner
,
spouse
, parent, child(ren), or other loved one - can be a source of some of our greatest difficulties. As a therapist who specializes in working with
couples
and families, you can expect my approach to be catered to your individual family or
relationship
needs while having the assurance that my methods are backed by research and practices that help. I firmly believe that these hardships aren't permanent and that with some intentional effort, vulnerability, and better skills, they can be a source of joy.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
