As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly a decade of experience in the mental health field and as a person in recovery, I am passionate about helping others. I understand the pain, confusion, and fear involved with beginning to make the changes necessary to live a fulfilling and authentic life. My approach to therapy is eclectic, I believe in tailoring treatment to the individual I am working with. The connection between trauma, substance abuse, and other destructive means of coping can keep us stuck and lonely. Recovery means learning to discover and nurture the path to a healthy and connected life.

All are welcome! I work the most with individuals and couples that are navigating multiple intersecting identities and mental health concerns. As a trans veteran, I find it easy to connect with members of the LGBTQ and veteran communities. I can help members navigate life and the nuances that come with those identities by drawing on experience, training, and education. Clients often find that not having to explain things that feel basic really makes therapy accessible. This baseline can help the navigation of trauma and PTSD to feel less dark and lonely.

You laughed at the right moment. You answered the email. You held it together through the meeting and the dinner and the goodnight. Then you sat in the car alone and felt the inside of you start to roar. The looping thoughts. The replay of a comment from three weeks ago. The wave of reaction you didn't see coming, aimed at someone who didn't deserve it. You tell yourself you should be past this by now. You tell yourself you'll handle it better tomorrow. And still, the same memories surface. The same flare. The same quiet detachment from the version of yourself you actually want to be.

I'm a relationship specialist. I work with couples who feel disconnected, stuck in the same fights, or are healing after infidelity — as well as those navigating faith transitions, perfectionism, non-traditional relationships, and questions about identity or sexuality. I co-developed Self-Determination Based Therapy to bring together the most effective parts of proven models — EFT, Gottman, IBCT, ACT, IFS, and more — and adapt them to fit you, instead of fitting you to any single model. People are a lot like plants — a shade plant doesn't struggle in direct sunlight because it's broken, but because it's in the wrong conditions.

Hi, I’m Maeve! I am passionate about helping neurodivergent and queer folks embrace their uniqueness and find ways to create a meaningful life within a society not built for them. Many of my clients come to me after deeply harmful experiences with past therapists who invalidated their very way-of-being. Do you relate? I would love to be a safe person you can unmask with. I won't judge you for not being "normal", in fact I might even convince you that your neurodivergent and/or queer traits are what make you wonderful! Even if all you do is read this bio, please know that you are perfect the way you are :)

Life can feel overwhelming when old wounds or present stressors leave you feeling stuck. You may notice yourself repeating patterns you don’t want, struggling to trust yourself, or carrying a heaviness that makes it hard to show up fully in your relationships and daily life. If this sounds familiar, you are not alone. Healing begins with being seen and supported. Reaching out for help is a brave step, and together we can create the safety, space, and compassion you need to begin moving toward the change you long for.

I believe there is a space for everyone in therapy. No matter what challenge you are facing, you have a place in counseling. I am a supporter of awareness, acceptance, and different perceptions. There is much power in those tools and understanding them. Bring who you are to therapy, and I will help in every way possible to get you to a place of healing, self-love, and the discovery of the power of mental health. There is something to be said about struggle and what it does to a person, what it makes a person. With the correct tools, struggle does not have to define you.

You were meant to be rooted, confident, and vibrantly alive, yet old stories and self doubt hold you back. You may feel disconnected from your body, trapped in cycles of shame, or feel your identity shifting without a clear center to hold you. You yearn to feel grounded, connected, and in love with your life no matter what happens outside of you. I help individuals move from sexual and spiritual fragmentation to embodied pleasure and soul-aligned wholeness by guiding you through parts integration, somatic practices, and the inner hero's journey and return. Your body holds the wisdom for your deepest thriving!

As a couples and sex therapist, I am deeply committed to understanding and addressing the intricate layers of human relationships. I work with couples and individuals whose past experiences with trauma, infidelity, sexual shame, and childhood wounds prevent them from having the romantic and sexual intimacy they long for. My work often centers on helping clients move from relational pain to personal and relational empowerment—fostering deeper honesty, emotional resilience in the face of relational distress, and respect for yourself and your partner.

I work with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I connect especially well with academics, professionals, creatives, those experiencing faith transitions, LGBTQIA+ clients, and anyone who has felt marginalized or like an outsider. Together, we explore patterns, beliefs, and personal narratives that may no longer be serving you, helping you move toward greater clarity, healing, resilience, and a more authentic way of living.

I believe everyone has the internal capacity to change and heal, but that can be really hard to do when we're dealing with spirals of shame, blame, anger, and overwhelm. My goal in therapy is to provide a validating, non-judgmental, gently challenging space where we can tackle those barriers together and move toward the changes you want to see in your life.

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Therapists
Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialized knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?
Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organizations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.

How can individuals recognize a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognize a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?
Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
