Nobody is broken... but we all struggle with life's challenges and find ourselves stuck sometimes. Wherever you feel you are in your life's journey is a great place to start! I utilize resources like Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help people get unstuck and move through life in a way that is more rich and meaningful than distressing and depressing.

Life is hard! No way around it. Many people are looking for change, peace, love, and acceptance. I help clients to stop dating the same type of people over and over again and finally find healthy partners and relationships. I assist men in achieving success and satisfaction in their careers, relationships, and their life as a whole. For my family cases, I provide solutions to deep-seated conflict or parenting issues that result in improved family functioning and overall happiness. Most importantly, having had diverse experiences in my own life, I believe I have the ability to empathize with what you're going through.

I love working with teenagers and adults who want help navigating a variety of issues. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, feelings of low self-worth or confidence. They want skills and tools to help improve how they feel and what they do. I consider it a great privilege to help them learn and develop these skills. I also work with individuals and couples who experience sexual/intimacy challenges and concerns. Whether working with someone to gain more control over Out of Control Sexual Behavior or assisting individuals and couples through problems in their sex lives, I can help.

During the holidays, stress and expectations can sharpen old patterns—food rules, constant shame, pulling away, or going numb. Whether it’s trauma, depression, or a long fight with an eating disorder, you’re exhausted and want change. I'm a Utah County therapist (Orem/Provo) who helps you name what’s happening underneath and reconnect with yourself—steadier, kinder, more you. Trauma therapy. Depression counseling. Eating-disorder treatment. If you’re ready for relief, tap into 26 years of experience and learn what works and stop doing what doesn't.

You’re not broken. Your marriage probably isn’t either. But if every disagreement turns into shutdown, defensiveness, or distance, something’s off, and ignoring it won’t fix it. In therapy, we don't take sides or assign blame. You will learn real skills: how to end the same exhausting cycle of conflict, rebuild trust, and work as a team. With the right tools, relationships can get stronger, steadier, and genuinely better over time. Get back to the good times. Let me give you the tools to get there.

You’ve been stuck in patterns you can’t break, struggling with addiction and all the weight that comes with it. It feels like a constant battle, and every day it seems harder to stay sober, no matter how hard you try. You know deep down that you want to make a change, but you don’t know how to get out of this cycle. You need someone who gets it. Someone who’s been where you are and can help you make sense of the past while giving you the tools to change now. Someone who can show you how to break free from the patterns that are keeping you trapped. You're ready for something different, but you need help getting there.

I hope to introduce myself to you here in a way that seems genuine rather than polished. I enjoy helping people navigate the complexities of relationships as well as the loss of relationships. I’m drawn to sitting with people in these very human, often uncomfortable moments. As a therapist, my goal is to offer you a non-judgmental space to process, feel seen, and create change. In my process as a therapist, change means both compassion and accountability. I value presenting therapy in an approachable, human-focused way. If you’re looking for a therapist who seems human rather than clinical, I may be a good fit.

I work with nearly all presenting concerns but find particular joy in serving those with histories of adverse experiences, relationship and family of origin concerns, ADHD/ASD, and anxiety. I especially enjoy working with individuals from collectivistic cultures, various faith contexts, and high-responsibility roles such as parents/caregivers, first responders, and military personnel. Across all contexts, my goal is to create a space where patients feel safe enough to explore what’s hard and challenged enough to grow into more grounded, connected, and intentional versions of themselves.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work together effectively, but, especially for those whose concerns relate to their religion or cultural background, a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond, even if they do not have an extensive history with or understanding of their client’s background before therapy begins.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Church of Christ/Latter Day Saints values?
Each individual brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of therapeutic modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition such as LDS that strongly influences the conduct of everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process.

Why might someone feel comfortable with an LDS-attuned therapist?
While qualifications and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic effectiveness. It is wise to find a therapist who is responsive to your questions and concerns and with whom you feel you can establish a rapport. A therapist who is sensitive to LDS values and beliefs and the role they play in the lives of Church members can offer Mormon clients a welcome sense of safety, assurance that their community and culture will be understood, and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, all of which support the therapeutic process.

How do I recognize a good LDS therapist?
LDS therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Mormon principles and values. They have an understanding of the culture and the important role the Church plays in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of emotional difficulties those raised in the faith can be prone to. Like all effective therapists, a good LDS therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of everyday life.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Mormon/LDS therapists?
The directory of LDS therapists includes therapists who have shared their cultural background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information; these individuals would not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with LDS clients and/or communities, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
