Marriage Counseling Therapists in Orem, UT
I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families.
The idea of going to therapy can be intimidating, and I know many of us often put it off longer than we would like. I am so happy you are taking this initial step in seeking support. My approach is based on the belief that therapy is a collaborative effort and that my clients are the experts of their own lives. Subsequently, therapy is centered around creating a safe space where my clients are able to process their greatest fears, pains, traumas, hopes, and dreams.

I work the most with individuals and couples that are navigating multiple intersecting identities and mental health concerns.
I work through two core lenses Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness. My focuses are on cultural issues surrounding mental health, e.g., LGBTQIA, Veterans, Autism (Neurodiversity lens) and the intersection of these identities with trauma and different diagnoses or life events.

I work with individuals who feel overwhelmed in their bodies — especially those navigating chronic illness, burnout, or trauma. Many of my clients feel exhausted in ways that rest alone doesn’t fix, or like their body isn’t responding the way it used to.
If you’ve been trying to push through, keep up, or make sense of what’s happening internally, you’re not alone. Therapy can be a place to slow down, understand your patterns, and begin responding to your body with more clarity and care.

Hello prospective clients. I know how hard it can be to find someone reputable to trust with your most sensitive issues to discuss in therapy when there are so many people to choose from. If you are looking for a caring, non-judgement, experienced, and well trained individual (6 years of graduate school - PhD vs. 2 years - Master’s degree) then I definitely meet those criteria. I have a wealth of experience (25+ years) helping people with all kinds of psychological and emotional issues including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-esteem, relationships, OCD, PTSD, Bipolar, family problems, abuse, and LGBT+ to mention a few.

You laughed at the right moment. You answered the email. You held it together through the meeting and the dinner and the goodnight. Then you sat in the car alone and felt the inside of you start to roar. The looping thoughts. The replay of a comment from three weeks ago. The wave of reaction you didn't see coming, aimed at someone who didn't deserve it. You tell yourself you should be past this by now. You tell yourself you'll handle it better tomorrow. And still, the same memories surface. The same flare. The same quiet detachment from the version of yourself you actually want to be.

Whether it be mental health issues, trauma, addiction or anything else that causes us to feel lack of control in our lives, it is incredibly isolating. Unfortunately, isolation causes all of those issues to just get worse and worse; and we seem to lose ourselves along the way. It is demoralizing to look at our lives and feel like our true selves are just out of reach. When this occurs, we can’t help but look in the mirror and just feel broken or, at the very least, desperate for change. While working with me you will experience the healing power of connection, and an opportunity to fully examine yourself without judgment.

When we feel trapped in unhealthy patterns, painful relationships, or overwhelming circumstances, we lose hope that things can change. In this hopelessness we may struggle in asking for help. Everyone encounters pain, feelings of failure, and hardships, but that doesn't mean we need to suffer. Our work will aim at building awareness of emotions and thoughts, reprocessing past traumas, exploring how we connect and/or disconnect from them, and change the patterns that entrench us. My hope is to help you access healing and the development of your inner self.
