I utilize EFT and the Gottman Method with couples; I focus on family work with children because individual play therapy is often unhelpful, in the long-term; Filial Play Therapy and PCIT are my favorites models for parents with their children.
I believe in people’s own wisdom and listen with the intent to help people follow their own values. I believe in empowerment and practice therapy in such a way as to help my clients lead therapy with guidance and input from me but where they are the decision-makers. I work within parenting, couple, and intrapersonal relationships to reconcile and unify.

With couples, I primarily use Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
I work remotely for The Center for Couples and Families and meet virtually with people from all over Utah. I work with people who feel burned out, feel stuck in life, and struggle to feel good enough. Maybe you know what you “should” be doing to feel better, and yet, for some frustrating reason, you have a hard time following through. In therapy, we can unpack the barriers that keep you feeling stuck and help you make sustainable changes. As we work towards building a better relationship with yourself, you can feel more peace, clarity and confidence. My hope is for you to finally believe it when you say “I am good enough.”

I am certified in the Gottman Method and utilize it when working with couples to help them implement healthier communication patterns and resolve current issues.
Welcome to your therapy journey! I get that it's scary, vulnerable, overwhelming, etc. to pick a therapist. My style of therapy is very positive and very skills based. I want to give my clients some skills, some positivity, a safe landing space to work through their thoughts and emotions, and then get them out the door and living their best life. I give resources and homework between sessions and collaboratively work with my clients to set and meet their goals. I want my clients to feel empowered and much of my focus is on building empowerment.

I’ve received advanced training in differentiation and attachment theories, sexual health and sex therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method, Imago, and Mindfulness-based therapies.
I believe that humans are wired for meaning, connection, and belonging. Most of our struggles in life are intimately tied to how we experience our relationships—including with ourselves—and how we find purpose. Through a unique integration of Western and Eastern principles of human thriving, I support individuals and couples seeking emotional, sexual, and spiritual wholeness, as well as deeper healing and intimacy in their relationships with themselves and others. As awareness precedes power, my goal is to help clients increase in self-understanding so they feel empowered to then address personal difficulties on their own terms.

I'm extensively trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT Levels 1 & 2), hold Level 1 certification in both Internal Family Systems (IFS) and the Gottman Method, and bring experience supporting individuals and couples across diverse cultural backgrounds, neurotypes, and gender identities.
Do you feel like you and your partner are running in place—replaying the same arguments, drifting into silence, or wondering if there’s something missing beneath the surface? The clients I work best with often struggle to name the emotions hiding beneath the surface, longing for both safety and closeness but unsure how to ask for it. If you’re looking to move past repeated fights, be truly seen, and rediscover the warmth you once felt, our work together can help you find the connection you’ve been searching for. I truly believe we all want and deserve connection, but struggle to communicate/be vulnerable in crucial moments.

I am passionate about helping clients process and move past trauma to a healthier and happier future. ART has been researched in veterans with PTSD and has been found to have profound positive effects on complex and simple trauma even after only one session. Everyone's process looks different but relief is possible and I want to help you get there.

Gottman Method Therapists

How does the Gottman method work?

One of the core doctrines of the Gottman method is that negative emotions hurt relationships about five times more than positive emotions help them. Thus, couples require five times more positive interactions than negative interactions with each other. The therapist will guide clients on how to improve communication and understanding of each other to manage conflict and have their emotional needs met. The therapist will also advise couples on how to repair relations with each other when conflict arises, and therefore avoid lasting damage.

Is the Gottman method evidence-based?

Yes, this method is an evidence-based approach to couples therapy. The method is based on more than 40 years of research by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, the psychologists who developed the method. The Gottmans analyzed decades of data to draw conclusions about what types of interactions are likely to lead to specific results, and which interventions are most likely to lead to success. Studies have found that this approach leads to improvements in relationship satisfaction, intimacy, communication skills, and a lower rate of divorce.

How long does the Gottman method take?

The duration of treatment depends on the specific challenges clients face. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long, and an average course of treatment is around 10 sessions. In some cases, such as for couples dealing with a critical problem, the therapist will suggest an intensive course of treatment, with daily sessions over the first two to four days. Treatment is complete when the couple is satisfied and has met the goals they’ve set, and when the therapist believes they have the skills to continue on their own.

Is the Gottman method effective?

Through the Gottman method, couples can achieve changes that are real and sustainable. This treatment has been used for more than 40 years; the method is supported by empirical research, including randomized controlled trials that have demonstrated effectiveness in improving relationship outcomes for couples. Like any talk therapy, success or failure depends in large part on how committed the clients are to making positive changes and working toward results.
