As a generational cycle breaker, I understand firsthand the courage and resilience it takes to create meaningful change in one's life. My journey has been deeply personal, shaped by my own experiences and the challenges I've faced along the way. As a parent who has navigated the often turbulent waters of the teen years, I am passionate about supporting both teens and their parents through these critical times.

I am a licensed clinical therapist and believe therapy is a way for individuals to connect and access their own wisdom to make the changes for a life that is most inspiring and fulfilling. Healing trauma puts us back in touch with who we really are and allows us to reconnect and build strong relationships. No one deserves to feel shameful, unworthy, or unwanted, and my own life experiences have shaped my ability to offer safety and compassion to everyone wherever they currently are in life.

Do you have that voice in the back of your mind that constantly tells you how awful you are, the one that is relentless and won’t go away? Sometimes in life we feel overwhelmed, disconnected, and unable to take care of our needs. We take this out on food, our bodies, and those we love. It can be difficult to face things, even if we want to. Despite our best efforts we find ourselves feeling defeated and worry we are failing. This might be because you have difficult things in your life that are keeping you from being able to make the changes you desire. Seeking counseling is a brave step in reconnecting with yourself and your life.

I believe that therapy is a tool to help people towards a meaningful and fulfilling life. In my professional experience trauma, depression, and various anxieties can make life feel overwhelming and lonely. However, we can reconnect with meaning and fulfillment through exploration and healing. My practice focuses on individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma. The experience and training that I have received and developed over the last several years include faith challenges and LGBTQIA+, focusing on self-determination and self-empowerment.

I believe that despite life’s challenges, and often because of them, every individual has their own unique strengths and capabilities. Every individual has worth and purpose. Our own difficult life circumstances or misperceptions can sometimes mask these truths, but I seek to help my clients remember and internalize them. Hope and healing can be found by drawing on the strengths within!

I specialize in working with women, but I am open to working with men if I feel my skillset and approach are a good fit.
I want you to reclaim your power. Stepping into your power begins with healing the wounds of your past. When you do this, you can show up more fully in your present and future. We all carry subconscious beliefs from our past that can hold us back from being the person we aspire to be. It's time to confront and heal those hidden beliefs. By doing this work, you set yourself free to create the future you deserve. I work at Etherios Therapy where their mission is in perfect alignment with me as a clinician. We believe in healing the whole person from every aspect of wellness. Check out their website at etheriostherapy com.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
