With expertise in life transitions, depression, domestic violence, stress, and anxiety, I provide a safe space for clients to explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and foster healthier relationships.
Whether you are a therapy veteran or have never sought mental health services before, I hope to support you as you navigate the collision of your internal experience with real-life challenges. For clients that don't even know where to begin with issues in the family, parents that are struggling with their child's transitions, and couples seeking clarity on "communication," I imagine that obtaining help can feel like an uphill battle.

My experience includes supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence at The Refuge Utah and helping clients heal through CBT, psychoeducation, and EMDR at Aspen Counseling Services.
Mental health struggles can feel overwhelming, but relief is possible. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are proven methods to ease anxiety, depression, and trauma. These therapies help reframe negative thoughts and process difficult experiences, leading to lasting healing and well-being.

I am adept in treating multiple issues such as anxiety/depression, OCD, depression, domestic violence, PTSD, addictions, and grief and loss.
I have worked as a clinician for approximately 7-8 years and love what I do. Most of my clients are able to reach their goals and move forward. Therapy is not a cure but a way to empower yourself for change and I focus on empowering the client in their own self-management so that they don't have to rely on a therapist the rest of their lives.

Mental illness itself occurs from the interaction of multiple genes in the body and other environmental factors such as stress, abuse, neglect, or an event, which can influence, or trigger an illness in a person.
A good therapist-client fit is essential to getting the help you need. I have a great deal of life experience and cultural awareness from growing up in a risky area of Los Angeles, serving in the U.S. Army (9 yrs), experiencing combat and loss, living through natural disasters, working with and supporting military veterans, working as a therapist with juveniles for the State of Utah, and overcoming many of life's personal obstacles. I have a passion for working with people. I believe connecting with you is essential to treatment success. As your therapist, I promise to be there for you every step of the way.

Domestic Abuse Therapists

What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?

Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?

Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?

Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?

It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
