As a couples and sex therapist, I am deeply committed to understanding and addressing the intricate layers of human relationships. I work with couples and individuals whose past experiences with trauma, infidelity, sexual shame, and childhood wounds prevent them from having the romantic and sexual intimacy they long for. My work often centers on helping clients move from relational pain to personal and relational empowerment—fostering deeper honesty, emotional resilience in the face of relational distress, and respect for yourself and your partner.

I hold certifications from EMDRIA and BCIA in Neurofeedback, and I use a combination of EMDR, BWRT, and biofeedback to help clients achieve lasting change.
The human mind can get stuck in negative emotions, beliefs, and other patterns which make it feel impossible to move forward in life. I specialize in interventions (particularly EMDR, ACT, hyponsis, and BWRT) that enable the mind to let release old patterns quickly and often permanently. I specialize in treating trauma and anxiety. But these same interventions work wonders with addictions, depression, and other serious problems.

I'm Stephanie. If you’ve been living in survival mode, managing anxiety that won’t let up, depression that drains everything, or relationships that leave you feeling invisible — you’re not stuck. You just haven’t had the right tools yet.
I use neurofeedback, DBT, and trauma-informed therapy to help people stop just surviving and start living. I’ve been doing neurofeedback since 2009, and it’s one of the most effective things I’ve seen for anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation. You don’t have to keep white-knuckling it.

I love working with the queer community & women, helping these groups overcome self-limiting beliefs, discover self-compassion, & find their voice. I also love helping women find the link between their menstrual cycle and mental health.
Often, symptoms such as depression and anxiety are the result of trauma, unjust systems, or simply losing one's way. As a trauma clinician/social worker, I enjoy walking with my clients back through their painful experiences in a safe manner, connecting to their bodies, helping them appropriately process so that their symptoms can be relieved, and live a life according to their truth.

I've spent most of my career working with children of all ages and their parents tackling concerns and frustrations related to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Reactive Attachment Disorder, ADHD, depression and anxiety symptoms. I enjoy helping families better understand each other through increased communication, clear agreements, and understanding each other's love languages and learning styles.
As a former service member (albeit brief), I enjoy working with service members and their families as they navigate through the uncertainty of deployment and military specific dynamics.

As a mental health counselor, it has always been my privilege to work alongside clients. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and the connection that derives our humanity. Each individual has such a personal experience in which their life has been based. I believe in meeting clients where they are at, working toward personal goals, tailoring interventions to meet these needs, and challenging individuals to make changes that ultimately lead to the development of a life in which they feel they can thrive.

Can biofeedback help with anxiety?
Biofeedback is often used to treat anxiety, including generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. Anecdotal evidence and some research studies have found that it can improve symptoms of these disorders, sometimes significantly; however, studies on biofeedback have typically been small and researchers have cautioned that many have significant limitations, such as limited follow-up or a lack of a control group.
Is biofeedback evidence-based?
There is some evidence that biofeedback can effectively treat certain conditions; for example, its efficacy in treating headaches and urinary incontinence is generally thought to be well-established. There is also promising, but less conclusive, evidence that it can aid in stroke recovery or help someone manage a mental health disorder such as anxiety, depression, or ADHD.
What is the difference between biofeedback and neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback that measures brain activity specifically; it is typically used to treat psychological or neurodevelopmental concerns such as ADHD, depression, insomnia, or autism spectrum disorder. Biofeedback is a broader category that, in addition to neurofeedback, also includes electromyogram, heart rate variability, and thermal biofeedback, each of which measures a particular physiological function (muscle activity, heart rate, and skin temperature, respectively)
What are the limitations of biofeedback?
While biofeedback may be helpful for certain conditions, its efficacy is less assured for others, such as high blood pressure. People with certain health conditions such as heart arrhythmia may not be able to benefit from biofeedback because their condition may interfere with the machines’ readings. Biofeedback can also be time-consuming and costly, and may not be covered by health insurance.
