My focus includes helping couples where one or both partners have Autism, ADHD, or other neurologically diverse conditions navigate the unique challenges these bring to a relationship.
There is nothing more painful than being in a relationship, but feeling totally alone. “It shouldn’t be this way” you tell yourself. You’re lonely, and it scares you. You never saw the relationship going this way. You used to be really happy. Really in love. Somewhere a long the way, things changed. You find yourself thinking, “How did we get here?” Relationships are hard. I know it may feel hopeless that things will ever be the same. I help couples and individuals whose past experiences with trauma, infidelity, childhood wounds, and sexual issues prevent them from having the fulfilled and satisfying relationships they long for.

I use Neurofeedback to treat diverse emotional, psychological, and cognitive problems such as ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, brain injury, learning disorders, PTSD, sleep disorders, and addiction.
The human mind can get stuck in negative emotions, beliefs, and other patterns which make it feel impossible to move forward in life. I specialize in interventions (particularly EMDR, ACT, and BWRT) that enable the mind to let release old patterns quickly and often permanently. I specialize in treating trauma and anxiety. But these same interventions work wonders with addictions, depression, and other serious problems.

My two ideal types of clients are 1) working with couples, or 2) working with clients navigating the chaos of ADHD - or even a combination of these two!
I blend Gottman-based couples tools with CBT, DBT, and short-term dynamic therapy to get to the heart of the problem—and fast. Think of me as a mentor-meets-coach: I teach real models, assign homework, and follow up like I mean it. Psychoeducation is my superpower, and clarity is often the first step to lasting change.

ADHD and autism run in my family and I have studied these areas extensively.
Yo hablo Espanol. I am passionate about helping people heal from abusive relationships. Whether you are still in this relationship or not, my goal is to help you overcome the pain that you are in, and reclaim your life. I also help people that feel like they’ve lost everything (due to divorce, betrayal, financial ruin, etc.). It can be devastating, overwhelming, even frightening to see your world turn upside down. I can help you to grieve and to find your way in order to start over.

I work with people struggling with ADHD, processing difficulties, other learning disabilities, and correlated issues of self-esteem.
Let’s face it. Our children are facing an ever-growing, chaotic world and are often ill equipped to deal with the challenges they are facing. As a parent are you feeling lost and unsure as to how to help? Does your teenager or young adult cringe when you as a parent mention seeing a therapist? Young people could care less about theory, modality, and technique. They need connection, empathy and trust in a “professional” if progress is to be made. Resistance to help? Great. This is my jam, it’s my passion.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
