I am taking new clients for OCD, ADHD, hoarding, anxiety disorders, depression, high-functioning autism, attachment wounds, trauma, EMDR treatment for trauma, emotional neglect, chronic illness, aging, and adult children of alcoholics.
You know you want to make changes, but you can’t make sense of your own behavior. You're worried that you may be getting in your own way. Maybe you feel driven by perfectionism, or maybe you can't figure out why you are stuck on something that seems obvious. Do you need another mind to show you different ways to move forward? I can help. There's a great metaphor in the Japanese culture, where they practice a form of ceramics, kintsugi, that repairs cracks with gold to create a new work of art. If you find your mind or life in pieces, let’s make sense of the pieces, build your confidence, and create something new together.

I also have certified trainings in trauma, hoarding, depression, and more.
Anxiety can overwhelm us when a situation is important or meaningful. If it wasn't important, then anxiety wouldn't be there at all. When mental health is compromised, what is most important becomes affected, such as relationships, health, and spirituality. Somehow you've be able to push through until now. If you're exhausted, lost, and hopeless, I can help. We will work on gaining insight to understand what's going on in your life, and what to do about it. Often healing occurs along the way. You will use your strengths and gain skills. You CAN overcome what is holding you back. You CAN engage with the important parts of life again.

My approach to treating OCD involves understanding how OCD presents in a person's life and then building a treatment plan together—one that feels comfortable but is also challenging and can produce successful outcomes. During therapy, I am non-judgmental and open to questions. At NOCD, my team and I specialize in providing evidence-based treatment for people with OCD. Our deep understanding of the nuances and intricacies of OCD enables us to properly diagnose and treat it. We have received intensive training in Exposure Response and Prevention Therapy (ERP)—the gold standard treatment for OCD.

Discussing sex can be challenging, especially when shame or past messages have caused disconnection. If you're facing intimacy struggles, low desire, or feeling like sex isn't enjoyable, you're not alone. These are common challenges many women encounter. Concerns that I often address include low libido, anxiety about sexual thoughts, guilt from conservative teachings, discomfort during sex, and discovering your sexual wants. Together, we can work towards reducing anxiety and building a positive connection to your sexuality.

I am passionate about helping others regain their freedom through processing trauma. When I started my own addiction recovery process I had to heal my own traumas and wounds. In 2016 I started the UnashamedUnafraid podcast to be a voice of hope, speaking personally about sexual addiction recovery. Now I work with others to help them experience the freedom of healing. I also enjoy leading groups and individuals through life-changing workshops. My core belief about the healing process is that it comes from within. Everyone already has what they need to heal. Hope is possible for every heart no matter how big the trauma or hopeless.

Hoarding Therapists

What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?

Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.

How long does therapy for hoarding take?

Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.

Are there medications for hoarding?

The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.

Can hoarding come back after treatment?

Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
