I am taking new clients for OCD, ADHD, hoarding, anxiety disorders, depression, high-functioning autism, attachment wounds, trauma, EMDR treatment for trauma, emotional neglect, chronic illness, aging, and adult children of alcoholics.
You know you want to make changes, but you can’t make sense of your own behavior. You're worried that you may be getting in your own way. Maybe you feel driven by perfectionism, or maybe you can't figure out why you are stuck on something that seems obvious. Do you need another mind to show you different ways to move forward? I can help. There's a great metaphor in the Japanese culture, where they practice a form of ceramics, kintsugi, that repairs cracks with gold to create a new work of art. If you find your mind or life in pieces, let’s make sense of the pieces, build your confidence, and create something new together.

My clinical trainings have focused on trauma treatments, including EMDR and IFS, and other regulation skills, such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness.
I find that when people have someone who is non-judgmentally supportive, who holds hope for them, who sees them and hears them, and believes in their worth and abilities, they can have the space to finally breathe. And thrive. I am a direct and curious therapist, and I love to dismantle shame, ease the burden of anxiety, support neurodivergence, and help people step into their truest selves. I look to bring helpful dynamics into relationships of all forms and dynamics. I empower my clients to trust themselves enough to enjoy their lives again (or maybe for the first time) through skills, processing, and a therapeutic relationship.

If you're feeling blocked in any of these areas by grief, trauma, anxiety, life or faith transitions, attachment and relationship problems, or just feeling stuck in general—I can provide a safe, supportive, empowering space to help you.

You’re ready to find tools to work with feeling anxious. Most of all, you’re ready to feel confident and clear!

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy ( EMDR) and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP).
Hey, I'm Jess! I work with people healing from trauma, OCD, and anxiety. Trauma impacts us in complex ways, often shaping how we see ourselves, others, and the world around us. It can leave us feeling stuck, even long after the original event. OCD and anxiety can also leave us feeling this way, making it difficult to engage with life the way we want to. But ultimately, these conditions do not define who you are, and I’m here to help you navigate the path to healing.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
