I love working with teens and pre-teens in therapy, on issues including depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, family problems, social anxiety, low self-esteem, dissociation, and more.
I can help you learn and practice specific skills (eg DBT skills) related to your challenges, as well as explore and better understand your challenges so you can heal old wounds and reduce their negative impact on your well-being (using CBT). I also love to help you discover your unique strengths and support you in setting and reaching personal goals.

We work with all ages who are struggling with a variety of issues, including anger, behavioral issues, self-esteem, depression, perinatal, anxiety, grief, trauma, and adjustment support.
At Lighthouse Counseling Services, we do not focus on one main treatment area. Instead, each therapist has their own unique specialties, with some overlap, such as treating depression and anxiety alongside their primary areas of focus. This allows us to match clients with the therapist who best fits their needs rather than simply offering the next available appointment. Our team is not only eclectic in terms of individual expertise but also in our approach to therapy. Your therapy is tailored to your specific needs, ensuring a personalized and flexible treatment experience.

You’re self-aware. You’ve read the books, journaled through the hard stuff, and reflected deeply. But something still feels stuck—like your body is carrying a story your mind can’t think its way out of. I work with thoughtful, intuitive people—often managing anxiety, burnout, or disconnection beneath the surface. My approach blends talk therapy with movement, nature, and somatic healing. This is grounded, collaborative work that helps you reconnect with your body, spirit, and sense of self.

As a Licensed Clinical Therapist I have worked with a wide clientele base; teenagers, adults, and families, many whom are from diverse ethnic backgrounds. My experience has reiterated to me time and again the uniqueness and great worth of each individual as well as the progressive capability innate within us all. As such my approach is to work along side each client, not as a director but in many ways a visitor and fellow journeyman on the path of life where I may be able to offer some clarity and illuminate alternative paths during disruptive times in their lives.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
