I am experienced in treating anxiety/depression, trauma,
women's issues
, borderline personality disorder, and a host of other challenges.
I believe that despite life’s challenges and often because of these challenges every individual has their own unique capabilities and strengths. Every individual has worth and purpose. Difficult life circumstances and our own misperceptions can sometimes mask these truths, but I seek to help my clients remember them. Hope and healing can be found by drawing on the strengths within!

I am a clinic supervisor of other therapists. I work closely with my clinical staff to enhance their skills in helping children, families, and individuals. We work with people to identify their ideal future and concrete steps toward that future. Children and adults often have more skills, abilities, and ideas than they realize. I love working with people to uncover and refine their own gifts of creativity to build personalized solutions. Please contact us to learn more about our range of therapists.

If you feel weighed down with guilt for not feeling the way you “should,” or you've lost hope, I feel you. Worry and despair surrounding challenges such as anxiety and depression, pregnancy loss, infertility, pregnancy complications, and the transition to motherhood are often unaddressed, leaving us feeling disjointed and isolated. I’m here to tell you that you are not alone, I see you! Connection, balance, hope, and healing are possible.

I am passionate about breaking down the stigmas surrounding mental health. So often we find ourselves with negative thoughts and beliefs about ourselves, others, or the world around us that hold us back from understanding and seeing who we really are and what we can become. I seek to help individuals to break down their negative and distorted thinking so they can see themselves and the world around them in a more healthy and positive way. I enjoy working with older teenagers to young adults who struggle with a range of anxiety, depression, and negative views of self.

Throughout our lives, we will face constant exposure to reality gaps— the reality we live versus the reality we want. Because of this, feelings of pain are inevitable. It’s my belief that feeling pain, unhappiness, and dissatisfaction with your life doesn’t mean you’re defective. It means you’re human. Despite this human condition, psychological suffering is not your life’s purpose. Living a rich, full, and meaningful life is. My approach to therapy is one of collaboration and equality. You and I will work together as a team to help you experience less suffering and more vitality.

You’re longing to have a genuine connection to yourself and others. Whether it’s past experiences or present circumstances, something keeps holding you back from the joy and fulfillment you want to experience in your life.

I help couples and families feel more connected when life unfolds in unexpected ways. Feelings of disconnection often occur when stress piles up. Sometimes our lives are turned upside-down in an instant. I believe we all experience times when life feels bigger than our ability to cope.

I am passionate about working with older teenage and college-age young women in managing their emotional and mental health. It is so important to have good emotional health during this age as this is a prime time to develop coping skills, whether healthy or unhealthy (one of which that is rapidly growing in prevalence is sexual addiction in many forms). I work with adolescents, adults, and couples. I love helping all my clients learn new skills, find solutions, and manage their mental health. It is a great joy to see hope bloom in each client, despite the presenting challenge.

Emotional pain is a beacon that something in our lives needs to change. Therapy helps, and doesn’t have to be painful or intimidating. I am aware that what you share may be very personal or may feel shameful. I am here to listen, without judgment. I help you assess your values, and bring those values & behavior into alignment.

Currently accepting telehealth clients in Idaho and Utah. I know that finding and reaching out to a therapist can seem like a daunting task. Every therapist is different so finding a therapist that is the right fit for you is so important! Personally, I believe that therapy works best when we can work together to foster a positive relationship and make lasting change. I believe that all who enter my office deserve a space in which they feel safe to express themselves, feel understood for who they are, and feel empowered to challenge life’s difficulties.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
