Accepting new clients! Are you struggling to feel close to your partner? Are you ready for a loving secure functioning relationship? Relationships can be so wonderful when everything is going well but they can be incredibly painful when you and your partner just can’t seem to see eye to eye. I approach couples therapy in a different way than most other therapists. I believe you two are in each other’s care, and you must learn to read each other’s cues and understand the deeper emotions and motivations of your partner.

Have you been experiencing a gap between the reality you are living and the life you want to live? Throughout our lives, we will face constant exposure to reality gaps— the reality we live versus the reality we want. Because of this, feelings of pain are inevitable. It’s my belief that feeling pain, unhappiness, and dissatisfaction with your life doesn’t mean you’re defective; it means you’re human. Despite this human condition, psychological suffering is not your life’s purpose. Living a rich, full, and meaningful life is.

You don’t have to heal alone. Sometimes life changes in ways we never expected—an accident, a loss, a difficult experience at work, or another event that leaves you feeling shaken. Even when others may not see it as traumatic, the impact can stay with you and make daily life feel overwhelming. You might feel anxious, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. You don’t have to face that alone. Therapy can be a space where you feel safe, heard, supported, and understood while you begin to process what you’ve been through and move toward healing at your own pace.

I know that reaching out for help can feel vulnerable. You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Therapy can be a place where you feel truly heard, supported, and empowered and where you can show up as you are. I’m passionate about about supporting children, teens, and adults as they navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional and behavioral challenges, self-harm, life transitions, and family or relationship stress. I feel especially called to work with adolescents and young adults, particularly those who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, misunderstood, or unsure of how to move forward.

I see a range of clients, but particularly trauma survivors, moms, and anyone who has been holding a lot and is ready to set some of it down. They come from all walks of life to navigate trauma, a difficult perinatal and/or postpartum season, anxiety, relationship stress, or just the difficulties life generally has to offer.
I am trained in and utilize both EMDR and ART. Similarly, I pull from different modalities depending on what would be helpful to you in the moment. My goal is to figure out what actually works for you, and meet you where you are.

I am a therapist because I believe everyone deserves to be truly seen, heard, and healed. Life might have taught you that you are unworthy, incapable, or unable to experience peace. I hope to guide you through your journey of healing and growth. I believe that the resources you need to find that peace and healing are inside of you–after all, you know yourself and your needs better than anyone. It can be hard to ask for help and be vulnerable with a stranger. I do my best to cultivate an environment where you feel safe to share not only your struggles, but also your joys and laughter.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
