Women's Issues Therapists in Highland, UT
Accepting new clients! Are you struggling to feel close to your partner? Are you ready for a loving secure functioning relationship? Relationships can be so wonderful when everything is going well but they can be incredibly painful when you and your partner just can’t seem to see eye to eye. I approach couples therapy in a different way than most other therapists. I believe you two are in each other’s care, and you must learn to read each other’s cues and understand the deeper emotions and motivations of your partner.

I specialize in Women's Issues, Life Transitions, and Body Image.
You’ve spent so much of your life taking care of everyone else that somewhere along the way, you lost connection with yourself. Now you’re standing in the middle of change—questioning relationships, identity, motherhood, career, or the life you built—and while part of you knows something has to shift, the anxiety, overthinking, and emotional exhaustion can feel overwhelming. Therapy is a space where you no longer have to perform, hold it all together, or keep surviving; together, we’ll help you understand your patterns, quiet the constant mental noise, and reconnect with the woman you’re becoming.

You can reclaim your voice after surviving relational trauma, and you've found someone who understands.
You may feel an abundance of anxiety and guilt when you ask for what you need. You may avoid bringing anything up because you don't want to upset anyone. You might be walking on eggshells, or feel that nothing you do is ever good enough. You may struggle with boundaries or feel numb and disconnected. If your relationship with a parent, partner, co-worker or friend, has left you feeling hurt, lost and confused, it is not all your fault. The symptoms you feel are understandable, and you can feel whole again.

You might be feeling exhausted and isolated from thoughts of suicide and the impact of painful experiences. You've tried to shove things down, move on or just look on the "bright side". Yet everyday feels like a struggle, and you aren't sure how much more you can take. Maybe you feel stuck, you are going through the motions but ultimately don't feel like you are going anywhere. You want to talk, heal and but feel stuck. If this sounds familiar, I may be a good fit for you.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
