I am a licensed clinical social worker, working with individuals, couples, families, children, and adolescents. I use interactive play therapy with children, I teach cognitive therapy (CBT) skills as well as dialectical behavior skills (DBT). I have also been trained in EMDR, which is specific to trauma treatment. I use these and other therapeutic interventions to assist my clients in improving strategies to better regulate emotions, tolerate and work through emotional distress, confront and change faulty thinking patterns, develop healthy boundaries, and improve communication patterns. Problems don't just go away, it takes work, courage, and a strong heart.

Feeling stuck? Like things aren’t changing? Wondering if your relationship with your spouse or partner will ever improve or if you will just continue in the same cyclical patterns? You might be feeling lonelier than ever as you wrestle with these questions quietly in your heart. You wonder who you can talk to as everyone around you seems to be biased in someway. You know you need a space to think your own thoughts and figure this out for yourself. Or perhaps you struggle with crippling anxiety that has lead to some avoidant behaviors. Either way, you know you want to regain your confidence and feel better.

As we go about our lives, our perspective shapes our experiences and ultimately our reality. At times those perspectives can be overwhelming and confusing. Taking those steps, especially at first, can be daunting and scary. At Perspectives Therapy, we will provide the care and attention you deserve to take those steps.

You’re the one who holds it together. For everyone. And you’re so tired of it you could cry — except you don’t, because who has time for that. Maybe you’ve been fine on paper for years. Maybe nobody even knows how heavy it’s gotten. But something in you knows this isn’t sustainable. That the version of you that keeps pushing through is not the same as the version of you that’s actually okay. I work with women who are done pretending. Who are ready to feel like themselves again — not the self that manages everything, but the one underneath all of that.

My goal is to help LGBTQ+ individuals and their families thrive. As a queer man who grew up in Utah, I often help clients build and maintain healthy relationships, work through depression, stress, or anxiety, navigate relationships with less accepting family or friends, deal with difficulties surrounding coming out, overcome sexual challenges, and manage shame, discrimination and stigma. I regularly write letters of support for trans and nonbinary individuals looking for hormones or surgeries. I see adolescents, adults, couples, and families in person in Salt Lake (Kaysville) or Logan as well as online throughout the United States.

Life brings unexpected challenges and traumas—some brief, others long-lasting. In the midst of this, we often lose touch with our inner voice, neglect our needs, and begin to believe negative core beliefs. This can lead to cycles of anxiety, depression, and difficulty in relationships and daily life. Together, we’ll work to break these patterns, heal from trauma, and reconnect with your true self. My goal is to help you rediscover your inner serenity, strengthen your self-awareness, and build the tools needed for lasting growth and change.

Welcome! I'm glad you've made your way here. I work with adolescents and adults who are struggling to manage overwhelming emotions related to trauma, anxiety, depression, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (and related disorders like body-focused repetitive behaviors). Fear, whether from anxiety, intrusive thoughts or trauma can take over and cause people to avoid situations that provoke anxiety. This avoidance cycle leads to a deep sense of shame and people can feel like there is no end to their struggles. I can help you change these patterns by changing the way you relate to and experience your emotions.

You can be doing everything "right" and still feel like something is missing. If that sounds familiar, I'd love to meet you. Therapy with me is a collaborative process. We slow down together, figure out what actually matters to you, and build practical tools you can use in real life, not just in session. I'm here to help you not just cope better, but actually feel more like yourself again.

Life can be challenging—sometimes in small ways, sometimes in overwhelming ways. Even the little things can feel heavy when they pile up. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all solution because every individual is unique and capable. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and affirming, creating a safe space where you feel heard and understood.
