I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families. I have spent much of my career helping individuals work through issues such as anxiety, depression, emotion control- including anger management, and peer and family relationships. I have helped couples navigate difficult situations including addiction and codependency, infidelity, disconnection, and poor communication. I also enjoy helping parents navigate through the highs and lows of the parenting process.

My 1st priority in therapy is creating an inviting space in which my clients feel safe and comfortable. I hate going to the doctor or the dentist and feeling judged or anxious about what they will think about me. I strive to help my clients in never experiencing these thoughts or feelings when entering my office. Second, my goal is to create a space for my clients to work towards their desires and goals in therapy with a task-oriented approach. I believe this assists the client in effectively measuring their progress towards their own goals in therapy. Tailoring each session towards the client's individual goals and needs is my goal

The types of therapy that I use are EMDR, Brainspotting, Mindfulness, Attachment-based, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
My ideal client is someone who feels motivated to find empowerment over their own life. My ideal client is someone who wants to use therapy as a space to explore, express, process, brainstorm, feel, connect, and create. Therapy is a resource to them to assist in the ongoing challenges that arise as a result of being human. They want a therapist who will both support them and challenge them. They may have a background of traumatic experiences, they may have an official or unofficial diagnosis of neurodivergence, or they may be someone who simply feels like we would be a good therapist/client match.

I believe therapy should feel like a place where you can finally take a deep breath. It’s okay to feel messy or stuck. You don’t have to have it all figured out right. now. Here, you can show up as you are, without judgment. With compassion and empathy, we will witness and understand your story, unpacking how you got here and finding where you want to go. Through this witnessing, we will find a truer, more secure, authentic version of yourself, living on your terms and showing up wanting more from life than maybe what you are getting now.

I integrate different methods including IFS, CBT, and attachment-based perspectives into a predominantly narrative therapeutic approach.
Have negative patterns been shaping your life? Are you ready to transform your story—for yourself and future generations? Many of us have beliefs that are binding us to versions of ourselves we're ready to outgrow. As a therapist, I advocate for courageous cycle-breakers and create fiercely empathetic healing spaces. Understanding how personal history, family attachment, trauma/abuse, and societal power imbalances can hijack our life stories, I'm dedicated to helping clients unearth true stories and step into new possibilities of health. I would be honored to support you as you rewrite the role you play in your life story.

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
