My therapeutic approach is grounded in Internal Family Systems ( IFS) Theory, a powerful framework that helps clients develop a deeper understanding of their internal parts and how they interact.
Eevee and I enjoy working with clients who are open to self-exploration and wanting to approach themselves with compassion. My goal is to help you understand the parts of yourself that hold you back and gently support change from within. If you are struggling with anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship issues, people-pleasing, or feeling stuck I'd love to help you! I specialize in working with domestic violence survivors and teens, but welcome anyone ready to live more intentionally through deeper self-awareness. Eevee enjoys working with clients who give lots of pets and who might need a little extra love.

I also use principles from Internal Family Systems ( IFS), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
My love for helping lift others has been life-long. I have been involved in community change efforts on many levels, in the realm of policy work and in the non profit sphere. My focus has been to ensure that all voices are heard and all life experiences respected. After over a decade of working on larger-scale social issues, I have shifted my focus to working with the individual to help them discover their worth, their inner strength, and the power of their own voice. My therapy approach is based in a deep belief that we all have what we need inside of us to heal and thrive.

Some are dealing with a chronic illness. Some are transgender, have a gay child, or are in a marriage with a spouse whose sexual orientation, values, or faith is different than theirs.

I believe that if someone is willing to be honest with him or herself and is willing to change, then all things are possible. I work hard to help people find their own answers. If I were looking for a therapist, I would want to be sure that the therapist would be a great listener, would be willing to accept my values, and would be able to guide me into solutions for my problems. Those are the qualities I work hard to bring into therapy. Not very many therapists have emphasized men's issues in their practice. I help men understand themselves, and women seeking to understand their partner or other important people in their life.

Reaching out is a big deal, so let’s skip the clinical jargon: life gets messy, old patterns keep repeating, and sometimes everything just feels like "too much." If you’re tired of feeling stuck in the same loops, your past might be providing the roadmap, but it doesn’t have to dictate your future. I’m a straight-shooting, non-judgmental therapist here to help you untangle it all. With specialized training in betrayal trauma, alongside a focus on complex trauma, anxiety, and ADHD, I work with individuals and couples to build self-awareness, reclaim identity, and establish internal security.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists
What is Internal Family Systems therapy?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?
IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
